Exclamation 1/2 Compression Fittings : Compatibility and Issues

    Hi there!

I've recently get Koolance Compression Fittings in 1/2 (13mm) (a laaarge amount, full-WC in progress).
And i'm pissed off those won't fit on many of my waterblocks.
I thought we could gather information about known compatibility and issues using those.

I've looked at the pricing recently.
compression fittings are something like $13 each (or for two) against normal fittings which are about $3
buying a few would get you quickly to the $25/$50 range

i got some of the new koolance quick disconnects (13mm) too and they dont fit my masterkleer very well. they do but i dont feel comfortable using the force it needs to screw them on while attached to blocks.

also got 12 bitspower 1/2"ID 5/8"OD comp fittings that wont fit the masterkleer i have. my bad for not looking at wall thickness
so i have to buy more tubing, and hoping that it will be able to bend alright. Great fittings though.

Where are you looking? Performance-PCs has them for $12, the 1/2" pair, which means $6 each and $9 the 3/8" pair, or $4.50 each:

The pricing pretty good for these Koolance, I use 3/8", I wouldn't use compression fittings with 1/2" though.

The bits-power are more expensive, about $10 each, so I agree there, it's expensive.

that's what I saw. $13 twin compression fitting against a few bucks compared to 'normal' ones

Got mines from Performance-PCs, with €/$ parity, it's only 3.3€/fitting
I've ordered two EK chipset blocks, i hope it will match...

...And this is why ppl buy such "expensive" fittings.

Just got an email from watercoolinguk.com that 1/2" (3/4" OD) comp fittings fit on the XSPC X20 Delta V2 block as well as the Edge (acrylic) block. As an aside, the email mentioned that the Edge is having it's design tweaked so won't be available for a couple weeks.

edit: I'm keen to find out how that new XSPC X20 V2 block performs.
edit: got another email from watercoolinguk that they don't know all the details of the XSPC Edge tweaks, except that it'll be made from acetal not acrylic

Koolance compressions for 1/2" ID tubing are for 5/8" OD, they don't say this anywhere on prettymuch any site that sells them so it can be confusing.

If you want compressions for 1/2" ID 3/4" OD tubing, you need to go bitspower, and get the model for that size, as they also have ones for 5/8" OD.

fusion sucks compared to the EK.

    Get a DD MCP Universal

Oh Gowd, if your looking at the apogeeGT you shouldnt be looking at compressions. Ditch compressions, grab a d-tek or EK.

Thats like gold plating lettering a honda civic DX.

I have some spare waterblocks at home, i just gave a try with ApoGT and Compression Fittings.

My CPU waterblock have to be Fuzion 2!
And I will mount it with compression fittings 1/2.
    How? With this :

like he said, I don't get how they messed that up. Lets just hope the bitspower version is designed better.

Just a question for the 2 of you...Have you ever measured the outlet diameter on a DDC top? It's not much bigger on most of them (most are ~7mm).

Quick Question: Will Compression Barbs fit on the D-Tek Fusion v2 IF one is using 3/8" barbs instead of 1/2"?

I would assume these would be thinner...

    Nope.

Though when I examined them, the system really does seem good, given you use the recommended tubing. Like the Bitspower ones are made for Tygon, I don't know how they will handle other tubing brands with lower durometer ratings, i dont even know how well they will be on other kinds of Tygon, though most all other types then the standard ones carried by WC shops is a harder durometer, so if anything it would be a tighter fit.

AFAIK, only Koolance 3/8" compressions fit the FuZioN's and most of the other closely spaced fittings blocks.

These are with the older v1 but the v2 has another 1-2mm between fittings IIRC.
