Quick update: I put a small 40mm / 5 cfm fan on my northbridge, it drops the temp from 55 degrees C (~130 F, very hot to the touch) to just a little warm. Even with reduced rpm so you can't hear it over my 120mm fans, it's working well.
I'm still trying to close the loop on the SMBus Controller -2930 driver issue...After 3 Vista reinstall and several driver tests and calls to Intel, still not sure if I'm the only one with the bug.
If anyone has the 8.xxxx drivers I was wondering what happens when you click on Drivers Details of the SMBus Controller under System Devices in Device Manager in the picture below. If you get an error, what is it? If Miwo you're reading this, I'd be happy with a quick update ;o)
