    Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R OC ?

    Hi,

need some help with overclocking Q9450 on Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R.
Not sure what volts to tweak to get to 3.6
So far I got to 2.8ghz on 1.27 vcore
List of voltages I have http://spacemaster.sx-team.com/Testo...e/P1020127.JPG
I'm not sure which other voltages I need to tweak to achieve 3.6ghz.

    specs:
    Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R
    Q9450
    evga 8800gtx
    2x2 6400 Red Ballistix
    850W PSU

You will need more cpu voltage i'd say :?

    try 1.45V - 1.5v DEPENDING what cooling u have

ps: why is there a cpu termination option. who wants to Terminate their cpu? so stupid

I use thermalright 120x. What about ppl, mch core and other options ? Do I need to raise other voltages besides cpu. And what's average safe for the quads 45nm?

CPU Termination isn't a voltage to be fooled around with. It's kinda similar to CPU vPLL...it can definitely help when overclocking, but I'd suggest raising it only one 'notch' in BIOS, unless you really know what you're doing.

Also, raise your MCH Core (NB) volts to about 1.3v. That's where mine are, and my vCore is at 1.45v on a Q6600 G0 for 3.6GHz (400FSBx9).

I looked at his thread he briefly discusses about some features but not all. Also I didn't find any overclocking tests

ok guys I think I found my problem. It was "System Memory Multiplier" set to "Auto" I overlooked that option. It was increasing my memory from 800mhz to 960mhz when I set it to 2.00D Right after I put it to 800mhz(2.00D) I was able to overclock it to 3.2. I will continue testing today and going up to 3.6. I will report more + pic will be included.

I was able to get to 3.44ghz @430fsb but it's not stable whatever voltages I use it just won't boot or would boot half way.I think the problem is in ram settings or something else will explore more.

seems that north bridge gets very hot and shutsdown, might need to buy 3rd part cooling and see if that makes difference if it does then it's perfect and maybe even better than ep45-ds4p

here is Supershanks bios template for his settings for an E8500...why don't you put your settings right next to his and maybe all of us, along with Supershanks, can give you some helpful hints...

just remember, there will be a big difference in how high you can take a dual core over a quad core:
