Okk I finally got it to where I like, but I want to keep tweaking (it's actually fun).

I've had it at 3.91Ghz (8.5x 460FSB) and now 3.92Ghz (9x 435FSB). Which is better, and how do I change my FSBRAM ratio as I was running at 1104mhz to my ram (but that was @ 5-5-5-18 and now I'm at 15)?

Anyways, I've been happy and haven't really moved the voltage and the temps are all around 47C idle and 61C during prime95.

Ricochet did you try my settings at all ? I seemed to have warned ya that AUTO voltage for the chipset is way too high !!! Try these

    CPU Voltage: 1.35
CPU GTL Voltage Reference (0/2): AUTO
CPU GTL Voltage Reference (1/3): AUTO
    CPU PLL Voltage: 1.54
    FSB Termination Voltage: 1.28
    DRAM Voltage: 2.1
    NB Voltage: 1.26

I would run 450FSB and ram at 1080 daily PL 8-9

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    Got some wired behaviour,
tried start the comp this morning, no go.
    Bios had reseted?
put in old ram, boot up and re-did all settings.

Not sure what is going on, bad battery?
    Or just overclocking to much

Worked well last night but the reset confuse me

    any ideas?

Ya I did follow your instructions, but I thought you said to leave it at AUTO first, so I did. Anyways, I just got a blue screen after 5minutes of P95 so I upped the voltage to 1.35625v and I'm going to try again. Then I'll start at your recommended voltages and try to decrease my vcore and balance these buggers out.

Which is it most important to keep low, the main CPU vcore right? Also what should be the maxes for each about? 1.6 for PPL, 1.32 to FSB? Thought that's what you said before...

Thanks so much. I'm going to push it and then try to find the most stable I feel comfortable with and just use it for gaming. I'm probably stil to like 3.6Ghz or so for everyday use.

So 445-1068 PL8 > 534-1068 PL10. Interesting, need to install Everest to check for myself.

Can you pm the bios settings plz ? prolly a bad setting somewhere... also don't tell me you run ya wolfdale at 1.5Vcore daily to get 4ghz....

@Grimreaper : 1:1 always a higher PL mate, it's really better to run a divider here and tighten them auto PL levels

Ohh, thanks.. Hope to get oficial one Soon. Because my pairs of Mushkin 2x1gb 8500 can´t be put on dual channel, only can install as Single channel Don´t know why

Hope the new bios can fix it.

Leeghoofd, 0901 bios has better read and latency in Everest ... that's good.

As for being buggy , why do you say that ?

As for needing more vNB, did you measure the real vNB using 0901 ? It could have less overvoltage so it needs a little more juice

Only tomorrow I can try this BIOS and do some voltage readings .... I'm without mem's ... ..... I'm waiting for the new G.Skill 8800 PI

Well I don't like having lockup in the bios when there's no OC set yet (just ram voltage was set at 2.0 to be sure), could be about the overvoltage mate but my DMM is as dead as a whatever... so I cannot measure it out...

I needed a slight bump in NB and Vcore to be stable as before... and that's with 2 different CPU's tested now... but also could be due to the slight speed increase that the NB will need more juice in the future...still amasing 500FSB steady at 1.26Nb voltage

hey there. I just got my P5Q deluxe yesterday and it's a wonderful board...but I've been having 2 issues:

1: Anything over 110 PCI-E results in the system not posting
2: Sometimes it fails to reboot...it will not post and then I'll have to hard reset...then it will tell me overclocking failed...etc and I have to re-apply my settings. The thing that's odd is that while it's running the system seems to be stable, completed 2 hours of prime95 and tons of gaming...etc

What bios version are you using ? And why do you need PCI-E Freq > 110 ?

I'm using bios 803, and a higher PCI-E freq results in ever so slightly benchmarks. Not something I care about too much but it would be nice if I could go higher. I went up to 120mhz with my P5E, P5K, P5B

I reported this before Gurusan, at first I thought it was my new vidcard limiting the board, tried the 8800GTX and GTX same no boot thing once I start to go past 109 PCI-E Freq...

That no boot is prolly due to a bad setting or a too tight timing...

HI, I'm thinking in buying the Deluxe, does anyone know if a thermalright ultima 90 fits in? Or do I have to get the ultra 120?

Leeghoofd, thanx for the Everest action comparing the two bioses.

I'm going to have to switch from 0706 to 0901...i like the look of lower latency, though i wonder how it'll affect my fragile stability with 8 GB...

Personally I'd consider both to be known issues, tho not the latter seems to be less common. I restarted my machine earlier this morning and it reset the BIOS for no reason. It can be a PITA, but it's just a case of entering the BIOS and loading the profile.

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum and I’ve have a few questions re: initial setup of the P5Q deluxe. I’ve read all 49 pages of forum postings related to the P5Q and apologize in advance if my questions have already been answered elsewhere.
1.) I promise I’m not a noob, but want to be sure regarding memory installation. Which memory slots should I use for max OC/stability with 2x2Gb sticks in dual channel mode; the yellow or the black? Right or left bank of slots?
2.) Does anyone know if I’ll be able to mount a thermalright SI-128 SE w/120mm fan along with a pair of Corsair Dominator 1066 sticks?
3.) I’m shooting for 3.6 Ghz with my 9450; what cpu voltage should I need (ballpark); from what I’ve read does 1.3 volts for CPU and 1.52 for PLL sound about right?
4.) Which bios setting changes the memory divider? FSB strap to North Bridge?
Great forum and great feedback/answers; thanks in advance for all your help

    Hi there

    1) I don't think it makes any difference which slots are used (I use the yellow ones myself as they're closer to the CPU).
    2) No idea.
    3) Each and every chip is different. Tho those voltages don't sound too far off the mark. PLL shouldn't need any more than 1.52-1.54v.
    4) DRAM Frequency is the memory ratio.

Thanks for the quick reply Cob. If DRAM frequency is the memory ratio, what does the FSB strap to North Bridge setting affect. Thanks again
