Will the original 4 heatpipe hr-03 fit?

Even though it's running well, It isn't nice seeing 70c idle..

yes the HR-03GT fits I believe

Check out the fan fix in XS News forum btw... simple XML file editing is getting it fixed. And ATI CCC is going to have fan control as well soon per ATI testers...

    Accelero S1 Rev 2 + 'HeliMod' Akasa Amber 92mm

Got the idea off some Texan bloke and it seems to work great, very similar to the standard Turbo Module but Ghetto fashion!

Tempted to to try the same with a 120mm fan to see if it offers even better cooling? but to be honest the 92mm diameter seems about right, great cooling and very quiet, for the price the Accelero S1 is hard to beat!

P.S: a few guys here in the UK are using the new Akasa Neo Vortexx and their early results look very good indeed, gOOgle it!

Can you fit two S1 in a Antec P182? My second 4850 is already so close to the bottom of the case I doubt it could fit a S1 with a 120mm on top of it. I'm guessing their Turbo add on works though. Screen shots are welcome.

I doubt it, I got the P182 and while its the best case I have used so far its not really designed for Crossfire/SLI set-ups. The lowest card is too near the floor of the case and thats using a single slot cooler!

I guess it may depend a bit on motherboard layout as some may have the PCI-Slots raised a bit higher on the PCB?

But 99.9% sure you won't be able to use a second card with the Accelero S1 on, its flippen MAHOOOSIVE!

I'm just hoping it fits along with a 120mm in a P182 (Asus P5E & card in bottom x16 slot).

    OMS!
D749 that is EXACTLY what I am planing on doing....same board, same casing, also HD4850 CF
I asked another person if it would fit in CF and he says it should. then I saw the heat that the HD4850 generates and was looking for aftermarket coolers, and now since u said that....I started also wondering about if it will fit with a aftermarket cooler O_O

If u find a solution, PLEASE let me know

    HD4850 @ 925/1000 1.55v

    Accelero S1, 120mm Delta EFB over Core/Mem, 70mm YS-Tech over VRMs

    Idle: 39C
    Load: 48C

Sounds like an airplane, but no worries since I am trying to find the limits of my 4850 right now. They are quiet enough at 5v when I come down to 24/7 settings. These chips run fairly cool and should be cake for the Accelero/HR-03/Zalman to handle as long as you have some air over them. But of course, if you start ziptieing fans you are definitely going to block a ton of slots and throw Crossfire out the window. My Accelero eats 3 slots

moving a WC'ed system around shouldnt be a problem in terms of leaks (if you've done your work properly)...but if you mount your gear externally, a draining may be necessary.

Ok for I have a 4870 and I want to up the cooling on it but still want to be able to fit two of them in CF. What VGA cooler would provide the best solution.

    That's fantastic

IF I had an hr-03gt. I know the hr-03gt works fine. That's not what I'm asking though, I want to know if the original hr-03 will fit. The one with 4 heatpipes.

Has the inability to adjust the stock fan on the 4850 now been sorted with the hotfix and new software available?, think I read RBE ver.1.1 sorts it, or is their still a need for 3rd party cooler?

Read that ASUS was the only partner with its doctor software allowing users to adjust the fan from 10% >
Is there software available now to manage a Sapphire partner option if I went for it?

Nope, you have to mod CCC and create a profile for what fan speed you want

But isn't this a fix which requires 'activation' (load modified profile) upon every startup!? Will there be a proper fix shortly from individual partners to match asus' doctor thing?
