At 400FSB you should be at PL7 not 8, what divider are you using? I've ran 4x1Gigs at 400FSB w/ PL7 on both the 5:4 and 16:12 divider w/o issue and I've used 2 sticks upto 450MHz @ PL7 on the 5:4 divider. The only time I needed a PL8 was when I was runnin 4x1Gigs @ 450MHz on the 5:4 divider but I might have overcome that if I'd run my NBv higher than the 1.26V that I was using at the time. I'm not sure though since I didn't test it.
