    P5E3 Premium+G.Skill DDR3 12800 C7

I just got all my parts in from Newegg yesterday and got everything together and up and running pretty quickly with zero problems. There are so many BIOS settings I have alot of tweaking ahead of me. I can boot at 3.8 but not stable yet. Now time for some 32M

    Here are some shots

    Nice, that DDR3 looks speedy.

I remember back in the day when I was OC'ing Netburst CPUs, I was ALWAYS using 1:2 ratio and everyone said it was pointless but apparently, that's the "standard" now for when OC'ing with DDR3 ah?

So far so good. I haven't changed the NB strap yet so I don't know which puts out better results. This is my first run with DDR3 so I don't know to much about all the settings and what is prefered.

My G.Skill memory has D9GTS ICs!

Starting to dial in "some" of these settings. Still don't now what 3/4 of them are. Its trial and error from here.

Was able to improve my 1M and 3DMARK 06 scores. Still working on 32M max stable.

Here's my highest 32M stable shot so far. I had to run out so I didn't try tweaking to get any higher. More to come.

    Nice, I wish I had a Q9450..........

I see you have a P5B-Deluxe, why didn't you install the Q9450 on the P5B?
I'm going to get me a Q9450 around XMas time but I don't think I'm going to get a new MoBo for it, I got the latest compatible BIOS for a Q9450.

Too bad, I had $550 last week but I blew it on strippers and booze. Oh well, XMas is right around the corner.

I wanted to mess with DDR3 so that's why I bought the P5E3 Premium.

Here's my best 32M so far. Man, there are so many settings and they all matter when going for high FSB and Mem clocks. Back to some more testing. I confirmed my G.Skills contain D9GTS!

You might want to share your findings here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=184503

I had the P5E3 Premium myself, but due to incompatability issues and bad boards [3 of them] I jumped to the BlackOps and I must admit I'm as happy as a pig in $h!t. I'm not here to bad mouth your board, that book has been closed. Good luck with it.

    The ram looks good.

is that ram double or single sided?

Their 4GB HZ kit has the same advertised timings, but I am not sure about the modules.

I need 4GB. Do you know if the 2x2GB kit has the same modules as these?

Would I lose performance going with 4 sticks of these?

    Thanks

I'm Prime stable up to 460 right now but I'm still trying to learn the right settings.

I just wanted to start my own thread to make it easier for me to keep track of posts and results.

This ram is single sided. I don't know if the 2x2GB have the same IC's. I just ordered another set yesterday and they should be here tomorrow. I am going to run 4x1GB and see how it goes. I will post results.

    Here are some more numbers.
