Thread: 700mhz wall on HD4850 is smashed.

    could not get 950 mhz core stable.. no matter the volts... added some 2.5v uf800 caps to the back as well.. still should had a few more..

    also..... in the voltage settings i had to change ALL(including the "---") of the voltages manually(in RBE) so i could even break 920 mhz.... the voltages would go from 1.58v to 1.43... once i changed all the voltages in RBE it was artifact free and droop free... i gave her all the way up to 1.7v on the core and no go still at 950. but 1.54v 920 is stable..... load goes to 1.59v from the 1.54v idle...

    just an update...

    what kind of temps are you getting with the Accelero S1 @ 1.58v 920MHz? I wonder if you are just about reaching the limit of the 4850. The 4870 is supposed to have much beefier vregs / phases, and the additional 6pin power

    really amazing!

    did you just solder pencil or did you solder a vr?

    I also wonder if a 4870 can reach even more :P

    i use a 100k VR... i dont use pencil anymore.. its not as reliable..
