You lucky French bastard. I bet you're enjoying a fine wine with fresh bread and expensive cheese while you overclock.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

Sweet! Get those Vantage results with the extreme preset!

Almost 17k with a single card on a dual core in 3dmark06 is extremely impressive!

Meh. 3dmark numbers never translated any meaning to real world performance for me. It doesn't register until I see game frame rates.

So far it's all synthetic crap - let's see some "meaningful" stuff, Boble, bring on the games!

Those reviews don't really show the advantage. What needs to be done is overclock a 4850 to 750 and then compare with a 4870 so that the only difference is memory. Has anyone done such a comparison?

Your question should be, 'can you oc a 4850 to 750'. In a review I saw that the bandwidth was just a bit lower than the GTX280. This will only be important when the 1GB version is released.

No, because that's already long been answered with a resounding yes. They clock well past that.

I think if you overclocked that E8500 to about 4.4/6 those cards would really shine and hit 30k in 3d05 and 25/6k in 06.
