So what do i do to improve my ram latency. Are there settings or something. Or is it just the ram and i should get better ram? My latency is like 60 and i know that's not great. So what do i do.

so i made a few adjustments to the ram.
Before i was gettings
800mhz so far. timings 4-4-4-15-2 latency is 62
everest-
Read 8422
Write 6933
Copy 6159
then i changed to 5-5-5-14-1 and changed trc to 24, twr to 6.
everest now
read 8599
write 7049
copy 6349
latency 61.3
aside from latency all is better. not major better but better nonetheless.
anyone know any other tricks?

Ok so i tried to clock the ram to 1066mhz. lcd poster got a init8042. what does that mean. it's listed in the manual as clear 8042 interface/initialize 8042 self test. but i dont know if that's bad.

It's fast as heck. Really fast. But some people are having issues that just should happen. This board and chipset where both rushed out without working out the bugs. Yeah it's the fastest thing i've ever owned. But it's also giving me issues galore. This is my 2nd Striker 2, and so far so good. But it's been 2 days of perfection. If you want sli there isnt many options really. You could go with a older board that has less issues. All the new chipsets from nvidia suck. But they are fast. Hot and fast i might add. Heat is a issue, even if you don't overclock at all. Which is a crime.

Hello guys, mobo is working great for me, but problem is that i cant overclock my memory even at 1070Mhz, they work nicely and stable at 1066Mhz, any suggestion what to try? they are 4x1GB sticks. Increasing voltage on memory or some chipset doesnt make any change. My FSB is 1820, unlinked, memory 1066, FSB-DIMM ratio is 11:13.

Did you hit 4.5 with your Wolfie on water or....?
I have both a Q6600 and a E8400 and I have return one of them soon. Havent decided which one yet. Want to try OC them both
Since I have SLI right now Im thinking I might get a SIIF board. Also thinking about waiting and get a HD4870 or two instead and get away from the Nvidia chipset.
But I found a pretty good deal at a SIIF board...![]()

Hey guys, I have had bad luck with my striker II.
What happened was I built two identical rigs, one for myself, one for my uncle (I just ordered 2x of everything). My uncle's rig runs great, and has been running without any glitches for over a month.
However, my system would not run stable at STOCK settings with everything on auto except mem voltage which is set to 2.1v. I tried swapping ram, PSU, and even CPU, still froze while running prime95. I RMA'd that motherboard, and the one I received was STILL not running stable at default settings (I set everything identical to my uncle's rig). Also, motherboard #2 would not post if I set ram mhz anything higher than 850mhz (I have DDR2-1066)
I RMA'd that motherboard, and now motherboard #3 is running great...except I am having issues overclocking.
I kept getting BSOD at 3.4ghz, so I raised all of my voltages to what I consider pretty high, and I still got BSOD (I ran it overnight).
SLI-Enabled Memory: Enabled EXPERT
FSB: 1700
Mem mhz: 1066 (timings set to 5-5-5-15 2T)

PLL: Auto
VTT: 1.40
Mem voltage: 2.20
NB Voltage: 1.56
SB Voltage: 1.50
1.2v: 1.25v
I checked the ASUS forums, and many people have reported that after flashing to 1305, they can not get their OC's stable that were stable at 1303 and 1101. When I got this mobo I ran it at stock at 1101, and when that ran prime95 for 7 hours, I flashed to 1305, ran prime for 8 hours stock, and then tried to OC.
The first thing I am going to try when I get home from work is to re-flash to 1303 and try again.
Look how damn high that vcore and NB are! I don't know why on earth it won't run stable. (Similar reports of this behavior with 1305 are on the asus forum)
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Would help if I listed specs *hits self on head*

Please report if 1401 finally fixes video corruptions.
Is 1401 from asus? I haven't heard any info about it besides in this thread.
Trusth pmp, always used his BIOSes and they never killed any of my motherboards (so far)
I wonder if it will fix my OC problems (I posted it a few comments up)
this is my SLI score with 1305 bios, both cards clocked to 675/1475/2500
and this SLI score with 1401 bios

Friend: Do you have a spare PSU lying around?
Me: No why?
Friend: My PSU just blew up, I think the second 8800GTX might have been too much for it to handle
Me: what PSU was that again?
Friend: Antec 480w
Me:........
Could someone who has a Q9450 that is overclocked, please do me a favor:
I can OC to 3.2 or 3.4 stable, but I need a CPU Voltage of 1.34xx. Any less than that, I will BSOD.
I have loadline calibration enabled.
With CPU Voltage set to 1.34xxx, BIOS voltage monitor reads it as 1.34.
CPU-Z vid is 1.264.
Could you please tell me your BIOS setting and your CPU-Z vid?
I just want to make sure I am not having an issue with loadline calibration.
I also cannot get my DDR2-1066 to 4-4-4-12 2T timings. I set my mem mhz to 900 and with 4-4-4-12 2T, I do not even post (freezes at logo). My mem voltage is set to 2.20v
EDIT: nevermind, I think CPU-Z is reporting it incorrectly.

cpu z = fail for vcore readings i use everist seams closer than most programs
and what is the spd info on ur ram? is it 800mhz cl.4 and 1066 cl.5? if its cl.5 try 5,5,5,15 @2.2
get it working and then tighten the timings up
carl
im sure other's on here will help you to
I LOVE LAMP!
Thanks for the info!
My ram is 1066 cl.5. It runs fine 1066 5-5-5-15 2T. However, a few people told me that they set their ram to 900mhz 4-4-4-12 1T and they noticed better benchmark scores in everest (it lowered their latency). I tried both 4-4-4-12 1T and 2T and I couldn't get my system to post (hung at logo).
But my ram will run fine 5-5-5-15 2T 1066 @ 3.2ghz. (my mem voltage is at 2.20v)
