I can try and tell you/take a picture of all my BIOS settings, but honestly quads are a different animal, yours is an extreme so that makes it a beast and should be treated as so; any CPU setting I give you more than likely will not give it enough juice. Once I get home I'll get you some info.

LardArse my temp on the bios are between 39 and 42 celcius idle at 400x10 when it is able to boot into windows. Ageia panel says temp at 36 celcius. NB temp are 49-51 celcius in the bios BUT Ageia panel says 41-43 celcius. I am water cooling my cpu but NB is using the standard air cooler that came with the mobo.
I will give it a go with these settings and let you know what happens. My memory will not boot at higher then 1.90 set in the bios. After reboot the memory voltage in the bios reads over 2.01 volts. Currently my memory is set at 1.675 volts. NB volltage currently at 1.675 and even with the fan blowing onto it...it is warm to touch.
    Will keep you guys updated.

That's too little voltage to the RAM and a hell of a lot to the NB. For 400FSB your NB should not need more than 1.20-1.30v; I'm running mine at 1.37v for a 475FSB using the same RAM as you.

From what I can remember, when I ran my setup at 9.5 x 400FSB all it needed was 1.25v to the NB and the setting lower than 1.81v for the RAM. If I'm not mistaken, the only thing that should be different for your setup is the settings related to the CPU [vCore, PLL, VTT, GTL settings in your case if you set any].

Quick question, did you flash your board via Windows or the AWFlash utility? When I flashed via Windows I had a whole lot of weird things wrong with my stability; then I reflashed with the AWFlash and it all went away.

I am using WIN3X40961600C7DHXIN which I believe is fairly similar to the RAM he linked, except mine is 2GB/stick instead of 1GB/stick.

Anyway I think that RAM would probably work great. This board seems to like 1GB sticks alot more.

I must also confess that I went over to the dark side today and am going to give 790i and SLI a whirl. (although I still have my Blackops. )

I strongly doubt you will keep the 790i. I wish you the best, but a friend mine almost went up the wall dealing with it (corruption, not clocking quads that great). I hope those GTX280s are returnable.

I have a Sweet Mountian Mods U2-UFO (Brushed Aluminum) - Original Top, that i have been saving for this build, I think I will start building it up and getting it ready for the components.

This should get it ready to go by the time the acryllic top is don for the water cooling tub/heatsink.

Very excited, I am looking to use a E8500 with 2 - 4870's in crossfire and Dominator 1800's. So the rig should rock when it's all together, I figure it will take a month to get it ready to go and with your vote of confidence, I think i will start the ball rolling by sound profing the bottom of the case and getting the radiators installed..

Very nice, thanks for your update, very patiently watching and drooling to fire up this monster board!

Here's the case, curtesy of Mountian Mods but I think I will use a lot of black and use red lighting and fans to accent the build....

You should really think about getting CellShock RAM, especially the blue kit. That Dominator kit won't do 2000Mhz CAS8 like the CellShock kit can; Dominator may be rated for 7-7-7-20 [I think], and the CellShock 8-8-8-16, but I took those same 1866 timings to 2000 and they work.

Thanks for the advice, That would work out great since I would like the dominators in the Blitz Extreme....

I am guessing it's the ram in your sig, i will price it out now.

So your saying that CellShock RAM is proven to work really good with the blackopps....

thanks for your time and effort!

Cheers Ceevee, I'll swap my RAM over that Corsair then. I would go for the Cellshock but I'm probably going to buy a 790i at the same time and can't quite afford the Cellshock as well. I wouldn't mind a destroyer to play with when they finally come out either. Thats not a slur on the black ops though, I love it and am using it as my main board. I just have enough spares lying around that I may as well put them together.

I took a look at your settings since most of mine were just AUTO. They look a lot like the Anandtech settings, are they? Anyhow, I did a few changes since a carbon copy of them landed me in a non-POST state. I changed the 110T to 100T, the 23T to a 24T, the 19T to a 16T, I think I left the 4T alone, the 7T to 8T, the 9T to 8T, and removed the -1 +1 and -2. More than likely it just didn't like the latter, but for some reason I like keeping things in multiples of the CAS. I brought in my own voltage settings, vCore 1.30v, PLL 1.50v, VTT 1.275v [fake], vNB 1.50v, vSB 1.38v, vDIMM 1.955v. The FSB, of course is the same, and the divider was raised to 8.5x [my CPU seems to be of a better batch than yours and handles higher frequencies with lower volts]. Skew and amplitude were left the same as well.

Right now I am doing a little MemTest86+, and so far it has passed twice without errors [both DIMMs inserted]. I might just stop it and go for a quick SPI 4M and then the 32M to lay down the ground work for some stability testing.

    UPDATE

So far the new settings have given me a slower 4M result [previous settings included a higher CPU freq], by .217s. I'm gonna go play some MGS4 while the 32M completes .

32M run just finished and gave me a slower score as well, by nearly 2secs. I guess that 28Mhz make that much if a difference??? Next I will try the RAM settings with my previous 9 x 475FSB configuration to see if any improvements show up.

They all have their problems, both are to new for a real better board to be decided.

the Evga 790i has data corruption issues, so is it overclocking issues or loosing
your data and reinstalling your os and starting all over again....

I think it's which will mature better, and that takes time....
Personally i had both and liked the build of the Blackopps and have a Evga 750i for $180 and it rocks....
so getting rid of the Evga 790i was a no brainer

Flanr, you should really leave the random settings on AUTO [like that 110T, 23T, 19T, etc]. You actually get a tighter setting with AUTO. If you are able to boot with them set to AUTO, fire up MemSet, and you will see what I mean. For example, that 110T you have set manually, gets assigned a 60T with AUTO. You should also try running your FSB at 475Mhz, for some reason that extra 28Mhz give me a hell of a boost in SPI results, even with a "slower" RAM. When running the 4M test is hardly noticeable, but when you run the 32m and you get a +2sec result that can be the difference [in my case] between 10.58.xxx and 11.xx.xxx. Finishing under 11mins is pretty sweet, compared to the 12min+ that I used to get with everything at stock.
