GX2 have bigger max. fps sometimes, due to higher clocked shaders, but otherwise GTX 280 have mostly better min.fps which is important, at least to me.

I can vouch for the P5Q pro, it's really simple and clocks well. And cheap too considering the features.

Hi Guys thats Looks very nice

The Backplate looks Like the EK Water Blocks EK-FCR600 - CF Xtreme Acetal

When they are installed it looks very nice

So you have got an impression how it looks when the backplate is also watercooled.

I Hope the will be also a nice cooler for the new 4870 and 4870x2

Is there a reason you got 1 side acetal and 1 side plexi?

Ek having the backplate on the gtx 280block sure doesn't make it single slot anymore.

you don't have to use the back plate. I'm going to get the EK GTX 280 block because of the backplate.

Sexy. Looks to be restrictive though with such a flat block, correct?

    HD3870

EDIT: ACK nm i remember how the first chip looks like. You right ram wont allign.

    Maybe It wont have to.
i hope the old 3870 blocks fits the new 4870 cards, this will be a great savings for us

The MOSFET section is rather immaterial....it can be removed from the EK full cover block. The real question is whether the RAM chips line up well enough to contact the EK block's RAM cooling, along with the gpu. If one has to buy separate MOSFET coolers, like Swiftech's or Enzotech's stick-on cooling solutions, so be it. $10-$20 is a heck of a lot cheaper than $90 or more for a completely new block.

Personally, I hope the EK 3870 block will fit well enough on the 4850 card......and am waiting for someone to try.

It might. EK could just release a screw-in mosfet section.

The EK 280 blocks look really nice, but I have a horrible feeling that the block to cover the ram on the back side of the card will interfere with the PCI slot for my sound card
