Completely OOB mobo without any preps, seems to be nice enough for some high numbers as well.
Chasing ASUS Commando MB ? Possible, very easily:

Tony just replied to my thread in the OCZ forums, he said that ASUS is aware of this issue, its motherboard related and has to do with 2gb dimms, also he said it would be atleast a week before anything gets fixed, im going to wait it out, as i like the board, asus is aware and is working on it.

anyone know how to set the command rate in the bios? my ram likes 1t and not 2t.
to fix the ram problem just make sure you set your ROW REFRESH CYCLE TIME to 72 or higher. that is the solution to that problem on all the ddr3 asus boards i've owned... which is like all the ones they have had out so far. LOL! good luck.
little validation @ 641mhz with PL 10

Nice 1 GAR, I'll definitely be following that thread![]()
can't post there though as it's not allowed
Thanks for testing Tony, makes me feel much better knowing you're on the case
Today I swapped my quad out for my E8500 and tried your suggested settings with the OCZ3P16004GK kit.
1333, 6-6-6-22, 333 strap, tRD 7, 1.72V and 1.20V for the NB. (all skews, gtl's etc on auto)
These settings passed 3 complete loops of Memtest 2.01 and allowed me to actually complete a Windows XP x64 install.
I'm currently running HCI Memtest as I type. Hopefully it'll keep going
Doesn't seem very fast though
Thanks for the help so far Tony, looking forward to any more progress

So i got windows to install somewhat with 6-6-6-22, but prime fails within 45 mins, i went away from nvidia to get away from problems, but this board is making the 790i look so good right now...........which ddr3 4gb kits actually work with this board?
GAR, issue you mentioned is already addressed. As large number of users are facing this, i introduce new build:
Asus P5Q3 Deluxe BIOS build 0801
Well, it is a step in the right direction. However, all it got me was a boot into the Windows XP screen with the progress bar at the bottom. After that the PC rebooted and refused to POST again. Meanwhile, all I'm trying to do is run the RAM [OCZ3P18002GK] at a mere 1333Mhz with a relaxed timing of 7-7-7-21-2T [it is rated for 1800 at 8-8-8-20-2T]. I even tried running it at 9-9-9-27-2T and the same tease happened.

I swear this is a 1N 2N issue, I have been beating on this for 6 hrs now, new 0801 build, ram proven to 1800MHZ on the P5E3 Premium and it won't load Vista at 1333 on this P5Q3, asus support are blaming the ram...how the hell can they do that when I can boot on their X48 board at 1800MHZ with the same dimms???
1GB modules seem a lot better, specially Micron and Samsung based, but they always do better as 1N is little stresss to them and the chipset, the issues come with 128's and 16IC's, the load is just to much.
Im trying to get SPD looked into also, maybe there is something we missed or the board does not like...as i said 1600eb 4GB kit running 1800MHZ on the X48 proves the ram is ok but im for sure missing something on this P45.
Regards posting on the OCZ forum, there are rules on the support section. if you wish i can move it to performance tuning and anyone can post and add to threads. The rules were put in place to stop end users jumping on others users threads....you have to post your own thread in support to make sure your issue is dealt with.

Hi Tony,
So, is the 0801 bios any good?
Does it improve anything for us? (do the lowest voltage settings still work like auto?)
I dropped the tRFC to 48 and the Northbridge to 1.18V after it failed and have just passed 8hrs of HCI memtest @ 1333, 6-6-6-22

Well, the P5Q3 Deluxe's BIOS is not like the P5E3 Premium, instead of telling you that you are modifying the Command Rate, it is called something different [which I do not remember right now], and the options are AUTO, 1 clock, 2 clocks, and 3 clocks. I assumed that is where the CR is modified, I have selected 2 and 3 clocks so far and both get me to the same result.
