This is why I was looking for a volt mod earlier in this thread. I was able to cut Vdroop in half using a volt mod on my Maximus Formula w/ LLC disabled.

why you do not enable the LCC?
is not the function of it? delete the vdroop?

Chri$h absolutely YES .OS software is not for voltages, only way is DMM to be sure.
I've never killed a single stick of RAM, and I've used ASUS mainly, but also Intel and DFI. The only weird behaviour was those f*cking D9s degradating with time, but they were alive after all. I learned my lesson, no more D9 dying crap for me. Thanks to Powerchip this is a thing of the past, and luckily almost all 2x2GB DDR2 kits are Powerchips

And DMM has to be always in the overclocker's table, even for vcore.

So where on the P5Q-D do we probe for the different voltages?? (cpu, vdimm, nb, etc??)

I have a DMM but don't know where to probe...

Yeah the bios looks like it has very similar options to the Asus. Just wonder whether the Gigabyte p45 boards are the same with performance level as the Asus, I see benchzowner has been testing one of them but its hard to say from his results.

K here are the results Mumid so booted out of the bios at 500 X 8 (set Manual PL Level 9) and timings 4-4-4-12 2T for the ram :

Now I put in your timigns via memset :

to me there is not much too it... P45 looses on Read and latency but wins big time on Copy

Thats excellent not much in it at all and with tweaks and bios optimisations its most likely that P45 will surely surpass P35 in every way. Thanks for the tests mate. Will the board run blend with those settings fine?

it blends at 9-10 here yes, 8 is a no go ( if it posts )

Nb was at 1.26volts, FSB Term 1.24 and CPU PLL at 1.5, ram manual timings set, TB manual at 9 and clock twister at strong...

I don't use LLC for my 24/7 clocks I need to set around 1.32 to get 1.28 under full load with the wolfdale, with the quad I need 1.31 for 1.25 action... and even without LLC the Vcore is fabulously smooth :

If the LCC it's to cut the vdroop, why don't set it to enable?

With memtest being buggy I mean the test in dos , my 2gb stick ( that caused me multiple BSOD's) passed over 15 loops of memtest, yet OCCT RAM test capped out under 30 mins... Same with Prime blend mode, passed 8 hours with the same stick...

For your sticks jVIDIA you are running them out of specs... it could help just to relax a few timings like TRFC to 60, ...

@n7 plz fill in the template and post your settings plz...

    hi guys!

I tried the 0703 BIOS for p5q, but it seems its worse then the first one. I reached with the 05xx issue 6x590, I thought I could go over 600 with the new release, but with this 0703 i dont even get over 535 with the same processor. Some new options were added, I adjusted them a lot, and I dont know what value to set them. I saved the 6x590 setting to an OC profile, but it dont seems to work with this BIOS. What template should I use with this new BIOS? Or is this release really worse then the first one?

It's pretty normal previous saved OC profiles don't work anymore with a new bios... I would try to pop the battery so that all remaining stuff from the previous bios are erased... and then try again,

Move one step at a time it could be eg that they decreased latencies or such so previous settings do not work properly...

If no go plz list all ya hardware specs so we can spread the word...

Alright guys, I think I've hit a wall @ 450FSB. I'm looking for 24/7 Stability. Not looking for Benching. I can Boot into Windows @ 500FSB, but higher the FSB (from 450), and the sooner it comes crashing down.

@ 460FSB I'm able to stay in Windows without any operational problems, but Prime95 begins to show "Worker thread stopped" one by one. Doesn't really crash the system. Anything beyond 450-460FSB and Prime95 & OCCT eventually fail.

So is this it for 24/7 stability or can I do anything more? These are my settings - I haven't gone up on these settings at all. Didn't know if I should. Can you take a look at my volts/settings and see if there's any more room for me to play with - if there's anything else I should increase?

Row Refresh Cycle Time : 55
    Vcore : 1.4
    NB voltage : 1.28

If like you said system gets well into windows but fails on a core in small FFT's it's usually Vcore... you can also try to drop down to 7x and see if you can get 475 stable with above settings... make sure ya ram stays in sync !!!
How hot does that CPU run with ya Freezer ?

I needed GTL 670 on all cores , load line enabled and 400ps cpu clock skew to get past 453 fsb but 500 is do-able now . I am using 477x8.5 for daily use currently .

I'll give these values a shot!! Any room within CPU PLL, FSB Term & DRAM? Or should I leave those alone?

Yes, booting into windows is not a problem at all! Not once did I have any issues booting into windows - in fact once in Windows, even at 500FSB, I was able to launch a couple of applications and stayed there for a while before Explorer gave me an error.

If I'm using Prime95, do I have to use OCCT as well, or is Prime95 sufficient?

Only during Torture/Stress Tests does it come near 70 degrees. For all my actual operations (video encoding, photoshop, etc.) I'm hovering between 55 - 65 degrees.

My Asus P5Q-Deluxe mobo will not boot after saving any changes bios till I reset cmos. All fans spinning but monitor blank.

After saving the changes by pressing f10, the PC will shut down for a few second then start up again. But upon start up, monitor no display, cpu+all fans spinning, keyboard no light.
I am able to change the bios settings and save the changes after reseting the cmos the 1st time round. But if I am to changes any settings after tat, the mobo will not POST.

When I press Ctrl-Alt-Del in booting up b4 loading into Windows the same problem will occur. Headache. What could be the problem? Already flashed to the latest official 0704 bios.

I don’t wish to clear cmos everytime I change and save a setting in bios.
