    4850 $150 @ BestBuy

Saw this first over on the [H] Forum. Apparently it's not working everywhere, but so far it seems about 50/50 for people trying based on that thread. There's a 25% off visiontek videocards deal through tomorrow, and since some best buys now have 4850's in stock, it will apply. I'd link the [H] thread, but I'm not sure if that's allowed.

http://bestbuy.shoplocal.com/ the flyer is on page 22 for anyone interested, might want to print it off and take a copy with you just in case. Some have been having success getting rain checks even if the cards OOS. I don't think I'm going to try myself, I've got an 8800GT and am going to wait for the 4870. Good luck guys.

Sorry to ask this here, but what is the expected price point for the 4870X2 ? I went to Hardforum and some one there said Bestbuy has the 4870x2 expecting to be $399.00. Is that true?

Sub $500 from what I have read. I think $400 is a bit too low for launch as 4870's will be around 300>

    But hey anything can happen.

I have two of these on hold at the Sowthwest Colorado Best Buy. They had plenty on the floor, I just had an issue with my debit card

But now I'm contemplating getting both, or getting one and waiting for the 4870 and 4870X2 to come out and CF'ing with one of those... Oh the decisions are killing me!

You cant tri-crossfire with these can you?

If you live in Southern CA, this might be useful: I went to the BB in Westminster,CA the dumb ass manager refused to honor that ad eventhough they DID have these cards on the floor. He tried to BS me by claiming that $199.99 is the already discounted price. So any ways, I went down the street to the Costa Mesa store, they gave 2 to me @149.99 each.

Get both now, but only use 1 until the 4870 comes out (I'm not sure if the return policy covers opened PC components or not). Use that 30 day return policy

edit: Also, for those that don't have a Best Buy near or can't get the price down, you can try ebay. There's currently 20% cash back on ebay for buy it now items through Microsoft's live search. You have to pay with paypal and you get the cash back after two months iirc. I'm not sure what this does to the warranty with certain vendors though.

Not sure if it's changed but I know I've returned a NIC a couple years ago no problem. Just tell them you don't have a pci-e slot or something, they'll let you return it.

Just found the 4850s at my local stores in Jax (Avenues Mall, as well as Regency Mall, but not available at the Blanding store...but I didn't check the inventory of the store near the Airport), should anyone from the area be interested.

There return policy appears to accept opened items, from what I read. They do charge a 15% restock fee on certain items, including notebook computers and such, but it does not appear to apply to the graphics cards.

Got the last one at my local BestBuy. Pretty good deal for a card that is brand new. Too bad we can;t get 25% off a GTX 280. Any suggestions on water or air cooling?

A/C S1 should fit. I just grabbed 2 S1 Rev.2 today. Will try them on tonight. I am hesitant about the S1's taking up 2 slots b/c in CF, there is no more room for fans. So may be Antec spot fans?

Went to a couple BBs in MN and they didn't have the cards out. I asked the manager at one and he wouldn't sell me one until 6/25.

    Grabbed one here in Tempe/Mesa.
Supervisor that came up to the register, since the cashier didn't know how to do the 25% discount, was BSing me that the item I was purchasing wasn't included in the discount.
I replied that the ad said "ALL VisionTek Graphics Cards," to which he replied, "asterik means that selection may vary." I was about to explode but had to restrain myself... I conceded it did say that but that he left out the important part, "selection may vary at stores."
There was an uncomfortable silence, for them, and the supervisor finally complied.

They had the entire self stocked with them, probably about 8-10. I'm sure he went and removed most of them.

Sure you can...best buy has a 30 return policy as long as you have the original box, accessories and packaging.

Try out the 4850s for about 3 weeks then get a new 4870 if it suits you.
