Most reliable source of picking up a good cpu is the FPO batch nr... VID's help too but there's no REAL golden rule here. Print out my List and go with that too the shop or look around on the web and see if they have sortlike batches available...

    List here :

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

E7200 is "budget line" so it is not soldered on, much like the E4300, and I think E21xx.

    E8400's are.

I've got a question. I'm planning on getting a new rig including an E7200 and a Asus P5Q Deluxe. I'm torn between the memory, I have two choices: 2x2GB of PC2-8000 or slightly more expensive 2x2GB PC2-8500.

My question is; is it better with the E7200 to have it at for example 8x500 or at 7.5x533 (24/7)? Will I benefit alot of the higher FSB or is the difference unnoticeable?

I have not seen many E7200's that do 500FSB most users here are around 400-450FSB... secondly depending on ya ram of choice most PC8000 kits will do 1066Mhz too... i you do not feel comfy OCing ram go for the 8500 kits...
My Mushkin and Gskill PC8000 ram clock nicely up 1066Mhz or even 1081mhz no sweat... just set the correct TRFC (55) and you will be flying mate

Probably 'cause at 1.5v, it's a bench/suicide run, while 3.9Ghz is probably his 24/7 use.

Man, with nearly 1.5v, I would have hoped for a bit more than 4.3 Ghz.

    4000mhz @ 1.39V stable
    4200mhz @ 1.4V not stable.

Good chip you had! One of the best so far. I hate to loose good stuff.

Mine was a really bad one, wouldn't clock more than 4350 bench stable and needed 1,55V for Prime @4000. But the little thing is imortal, survived hours of hard benching @ 1,75V on aircooler

Now it's retired, running stock in a HTPC.
