    9800GTX + E8400 @ 4Ghz = 37 FPS

But the HD4850 min fps is 7 frames higher than the 9800gtx in these tests. Dont know if the card or the quad is the culprit tho...

EDIT: Hmm post 248 shows the inverse lol, 8800gt with 7 higher min fps

Just wait til we can get them above 700 core, of course. This limit so far is curious, hopefully nothing more...

    Nice work jummyz

I noticed from the ATI Catalyst Panel there is no separate slider for the shaders/SPs.

I had thought ATI was going to have separate clocks for the gpu core and shaders this time, like what Nvidia does

All the rumors floating around the net gets people confused sometimes (me)

Doesn't matter you know, as long as the new ATI cards perform well, which they seem to do.

As for my blue name, I was XS Moderator for General Hardware (this whole section) and XS News for 2.5 years up until last month when I gave up my reigns to some newer blood Previous moderators can request to have XIP status after they retire, a sign of goodwill

Old habits die hard I guess But my point still stands This isn't official review and the performance is far from conclusive and I don't quite understand why Nvidia users get so insecure at times. Yes there is a lot of hype about the 4850, and it makes sense to want to get a handle on it, but you don't start posting randomly in someone's thread. You ask them if they want to do the comparison, or you open a separate thread (you can) comparing your results vs his.

99% threads go down the drain because members don't respect the wishes of the threadstarter. It's HIS thread, ask him before you start posting comparisons which take away from everyone's experience who are here to take a sneak peek at REAL results for the new generation of chips

    Anyone know the UK prices?

I think these cards are worth the hype they are receiving.

Nicely done Jimmyz... looks like a fab card to me... gamers will be spoiled ( at least those that didn't buy a GFX card the last year...)
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

yes 1.3 I will run the x-fire run in a bit, first off, too busy to upload pics right now and it seems there are lots of other numbers for now. but here is some teasers till later.

06 in vista 64 same as before with 4ghz quad.but with x-fire and 8.6 drivers, default card clocks. and IQ......... 20,287 (single 14,254 About 42% if my math is right).

05 in vista same deal as above. ..................25,562 (single 22,150 only about 15%)

Vantage single card score ..........................7,444 crossfire 10,654 (about 43% improvement)

crysis in xp was bugged so I am disregarding the scores for xp for now going to run vantage and then re-install on xp and get some stuff up in a bit.
