Update?![]()
its a nicely designed thick 5mm top, should hold well.
Thanks for the feedback guys.
Going back over the thread I noticed that I missed your comment - sorry Serpentarius.
I will be painting the two copper angle fittings black - good call.
That's a very good idea - instead of "murderbox" though it'll say "murderMod" - the name for the product line I'm preparing to offer.
In reality though, Fried Chicken is no longer getting a murderMod TJ07 - Since I'm building it he's getting a murderbox. In that case I'll have his acrylic top grill (assuming it turns out) etched with "murderbox" to go along with the faceplate. On that note I'll say that the 1st person building a murderMod TJ07 is yet to be revealed. A small hint is that he moves among us.
I hate posting without having new pics to show so I was waiting... till I had new pics to show.In the absence of pics I humbly offer a couple of render treats.
Project Update: The Acrylic top panel is being made but there's been a slight alteration. Since the inset step design would be too expensive, I'm making a thin piece of aluminum that will serve as a frame or flange to hold the Acrylic in place. The frame will be attached to the case using the threads previously used for the black grill. There will be a slight overlap that the Acrylic will rest on.
In other news, I'm having a hard time sourcing the Nickel plated blocks. I thought I had them on the way but that's fallen apart. I'm waiting to hear from two sources ATM but must admit I'm getting anxious. The lighting is also MIA and overdue. Why is it always the smallest of details that holds the whole process up.
More to follow, Cheers.
very nice, i like the top alot![]()

OMG I just discovered this thread, this case is so awesome! I remember seeing the murdebox somewhere, great work.
I'll be watching this thread.![]()

More is coming is right! Mine is the second from the left. And I'm proud to say that Charles has finally given me permission to announce that I'll be the first person in North America with a murderMod TJ07!!!! That's really exciting for me. I should be getting it in about a month, I'll be posting a log on it as soon as I can. I love this build, though. I must admit I will be copying a few things from it. Namely the wire wrapping and management. I'm really excited about it coming in and seeing what more I can do with such a beautifully designed case. I'm an air cooler, so I'll be doing things a bit differently, without the tubes and such. But I plan on eventually blinging a 780i out with Thermalright.
Okay, now that I'm done hijacking this thread, great job Charles and Friedchicken on this system. It truly is amazing!

An excellent question. I would have to say that while I'm sure there's a shop here in town that can probably do a good job, I would have to do a fair bit of legwork to find it. Truth be told I'm so busy ATM that the thought never crossed my mind. When I 1st proposed that Fried Chicken spring for the Nickel blocks I was half kidding. If I've learned anything it's that Fried Chickens are not to be trifled with. They may appear crispy on the outside but inside it's all business. Juicy, tender, business.
I suddenly have an inexplicable urge for fried chicken...
Fried Chicken and I arranged a barter for the build - he's doing some webpage work for me. If you're looking for a dollar value then that I'll have to PM you.
Project Update: Quoc at Petra's came through for me and is sending out the Nickel blocks Wednesday AM. With any luck They'll be at the border by Friday and I can go pick them up. That would mean pictures over the weekend. Still no word on the lighting but that won't hold up pictures.
The Acrylic top grill is ready for pickup so I'll get that Wednesday - no word on the Aluminum flange though. For now I'll wedge it in with gum.
In the spirit of trying to balance words with an equal share of pics, I thought I'd post a couple shots of a recent build I call murderbox: orange flavor.
Cheers.

im gona be completely honest with you, i just drooled all over my keyboard
I LIKE!!! Very much!
Great build so far, very clean and good attention to detail. I was just wondering what your using for the orange in you're loop. I did the similar color's (black & orange) in my build last year which can be seen in my sig below. I tried the Feser orange and another company with no such luck, they were both horrible, the Feser was actually green so I had to settle for blue. Also is it UV reactive?
Thanks

Thanks guys.
I'm in the process of preparing a big update for murderbox.com and will have all new images for the gallery (not to mention a more conventional options page). At that time I'll have large pics available.
GameGuru, your Chromed out 832 Stacker is amazing! Your workshop however, gave me seizures.![]()
I'm such a clean freak that I practically work with a shop vac hose in one hand all the time - I actually vacuum while cutting/drilling! Anyway, to answer your question; I'm using the Feser Orange. In the photos I have a white reflector in front of the case that helps the orange to "pop". To the eye, at some angles the color is not great - like you say, it's got a greenish tint. With UV cold cathodes it's pretty reactive - not as much as the UV green to be sure. I will say that the Feser orange looks amazing against white. If I ever build an all white murderbox, for sure it'll have orange coolant.
We don't even have that stuff here in Canada!
Project Update: I got the Acrylic top piece but wasn't happy. As I was afraid, there wasn't enough material to to stop the cutouts from sagging. I've had to modify the design and have resubmitted it to the laser jet cutter. I've got a better feeling about rev.02 - pics to follow.
Waiting on the Nickel blocks - hope to get them Friday as planned. This means no new pics of Fried Chicken's murderbox today. Instead, here's a wider view of the oran...err... fanta flavored murderbox from the other day.

Extremly beautifull systems! you're doing the best job that i've ever seen in each system you done.
The 6 pin VGA cables go at the bottom part of the mobo and then get up to the vga? Is better to put it like you? or what do you think to put the cables at the lateral of the mobo?
Those acrylic upper parts of the tj07 will be for sell? can we buy some of the parts of murder box's?
Best regards! and keep doing this impresive job![]()
