oh god, I just finished opening my tombstone (50+ pounds) and moving my Auzentech to the last slot. Spent like 15 minutes changing slots and moving the PCI brackets around to then come and see what you just posted (if tomorrows BIOS didnt work, I could at least have postponed moving my card to the other slot later tomorrow, oh well)
Well, then what was the point of 0801? No idea whats fixed/improved but I will surely be here tomorrow. Make sure you post it in the morning

I will try my card now in this slot and see if anything good happens. Anyways, I hope NVIDIA did something for their life this time.

I dont understand, if you have 3 8800GTX, where in the world is your X-fi? Unless you have your cards under waterblocks, I dont know whereelse can a PCI card fit...

Could you specify what BIOS you using? Driver? OS?

    Oh well
Changed card to last slot, IRQ is now 17 for the sound card, played a movie and guess what?.... beep lol!

My hopes are now on the new release that pmp is going to bring... if that doesnt work, Im going to be really pissed for the first time on NVIDIA and Im not going to Nsist on Nvidia anymore.

Sorry to that you guys are still having problems over here in the land of the 790i. When I first got this board I loved it the layout is the best. But when one spends this much money on it and can not OC it without problems it get a little frustrating. I really do feel this board will have a REVISION to a second one. And when they get this thing fixed I will be back for sure... My BlackOps seems to be working fine for me now just waiting on the new 4870 X2 to throw in it. Small learning curve in the BIOS other then that very easy. I got my board and was able to get my QX9650 to 4Ghz no problems. Now I am looking for better memory, for my e8400 cpu. Good luck to you all and Slim142 I hope this will work out for you.

Hi all, newbie to the forum but user of the S2E. From reading this thread it certainly is a roller coaster ride with this board. Slim any chance you've tried different vid drivers? Used to have major issues running 175.16 WHQL with this board and 8800gtx SLI, had video troubles and audio snap crackle pops etc. Since then I've uninstalled them and now use 174.74 beta, no problems. Video runs fine no glitches, not to say this board still isn't 100% glitch free. OC seems to be a bit of another adventure. Good luck to us all heh. Take care.

I have tried several drivers including 174.74 beta, but nothing. Many people here using vista, but I dont think XP is the issue.

    Thx for the help anyways

No prob man, hope you get it sorted out and the rest of us too. Seems from reading on many other forums, it seems to boil down to driver/bios issues rather than a board problems but I'm not an expert. I certainly did find conclusive issues when running SLI with these cards on this board. I use an Auzentech Prelude and once SLI was enabled all hell broke loose, especially with the latest drivers. Once SLI was disabled, all was well go figure. It is a bit frustrating paying top dollar for a motherboard only to find it runs worse than my old 386 at times, especially when I try to OC. Sad really. Guess we just have to either be patient, or else jump on the bandwagon and grab a different board altogether. Wouldn't feel as bad if it was slightly cheaper that is for sure.
    Cheers.

Alright folks, I'll probably be done with the review in about 12 hours.
After that I'll do some testing in SLI & single card to check out the video freeze issues that you're having.

I can fix the freezes in non SLI by adjusting GTLrefs. I cant however, fix the SLI freezes with GTLrefs.

If you guys wanna try it, -58, -64, -64, -58 works for single card for me.

    0801 and OCZ memory

Hi All, my first post so i'd like to start by saying thanks for an informative forum. With 0801 I can now run my 4x1Gb sticks of OCZ PC3-16000C9 2000MHz EB at 7-7-7-20-1T running 1760FSB synced and linked. Before it would not boot with a CAS of 7. I find this combination works better and more stable than a higher FSB and a 2T command rate. There are definately holes in certain FSB settings where performance drops off - I guess it is also memory dependant.

Are SLI corruption issues also happening with single 9800GX2 card's ?. I am running an EVGA SSC one with no issues so far but not tried playing videos other than in iTunes. Will try that one tonight.

I guess there is a way to add my specs and settings in the signature file ?.

    ?.
I haven't had any problems with my 9800GX2 in terms of video corruption or freezing or whatnot. Pretty sure this appears to be limited to two separate cards working in SLI.

Please Bench, I really want to make sure this is a general problem and not an OC issue.

    Thanks Mackintosh.

Need to work out how to do quotes here

With 0704 bios I would run 1800FSB with 8-7-7-22-30-1T timings and a multiplier of 9 for 4050Hz on my QX9770 C1 stepping. 3d Mark 06 20477 (project ID 6899103) but it was not prime stable. Since changing heatsink from Zalman CNPS9500 to Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and reducing the FSB to 1720 (sorry not 1760 as last post) and a multiplier of 9.5 to give 4085Mhz I am now prime stable. The 3dMark06 dropped to around 19800 but with the 0801 bios and CAS set to 7 it is now 20300+. I have a CM Stacker 832 case with 2 120mm fans installed on the right of the side frame blowing onto the NS,SB and DIMMS.

Nuclearjock - I will post my voltage settings when I get home.

    My settings....

Bios settings are as per attached pics ........ Vdim is 1.9v
Just running benches to see if P1 and P2 enabled makes any difference with this bios but don't expect to see any. Pretty happy with these settings for performance and stability especially with 4x1Gb sticks running 1T with a good CPU overclock on air.
