I tried several combinations with the timings but no luck. I someone else can give us stable settings for 500 fsb I would appreciate it as well.

460 and 470 though, is pretty easy on this board but again it's pretty low for an E8500. This board was built only for unlocked multipliers and that is final... aka QX9XXX
if you have time can you or someone check for 450 x9 which gave me roughfully 4.05 ghz on my Striker II Extreme - i know it is pretty low but i would be happy with this and with 100% stability

No problem mate. I will post my settings later when I will get home (I am supposed to be working right now ). I have solid 9X450 24/7 settings . Are you running your system on air cooling??? NB temps can get preety high (47 idle), though my room temps are 27-30C (I leave in sunny Greece).

Well, you can't get a separate cooler on the NB unless you dettach the whole copper cooling system from the board. W/C would be more appropriate.

Oh OK, I thought that you meant using an aftermarket cooler. Onboard cooler sucks, not good at all, block is too deep, too massive and keeps all heat inside no matter what.

Really? I don't know what kind of temps you would get if you used another brand of NB Waterblock, but I think it performs admirably.

I am not talking about the waterblock. I haven't tried the board on a water loop yet. I was talking about the passive cooling system. Block+small delta.

Congratulations getting 500 FSB working, but your cpu speed has dropped from 3.16Ghz to 3.00Ghz - is that right

any luck in getting the settings for 9x 450fsb

Didn't try it. Though, with these frequency, timings, sub timings it should be fine through any stress. I got 520 yesterday. I am testing with a quad core for the moment and it's much better than my 8500.

Thanks flanr, for the heads up.

After I get off of work, I am going to try and emulate the Anandtech results. I am kind of glad that I have a similar setup with the 1866 Cellshocks except I have an E8400 and they have a E8500 ES.

Anandtech set all their Dram timings manually at 8-8-8-24 PL7 1T @2000. I left my timings mostly up to the SPD at 7-7-7-20 PL-6 1T @1800. The only value I set was PL-6.

In their preview, they used 1.673v for the NB. Is that safe? I am WC'ing and am reluctant to put more than 1.5 at the moment.

They set some interesting values with the GTL ref volts. I left all of mine at 0.

In their preview, they used the "White Slots". Is there a tangible difference between the blue and white slots?

I am really happy that there are more reviews using an actual retail board. On another note, does anyone one know which bios they used?

I hope this will help you!

Finally i got some time to test fsb on this board

I found that it is not hard to get to 500fsb. (I haven't tested further yet)

Setup is watercooled and room temp is 27c at the moment
    Processor that was used: E8500
    Memory that was used: G.Skill D9GTR 2x1GB

    .................................................. .................................................. ...
    Settings:

    VCPU 1.41V
    VPLL: ~1.65V
    VTT: 1.35V in bios
    CPU GTL: default
NB: 1.713V (Watercooled --> maybe not as much V is needed)
    NB GTL: default
    SB: 1.65V
    Mem: 2.32V

    Timings: 7-7-7-18-70-(7)8-24-20-8-10-8 (1T)
    Strap: 400
    memory speed: 1000MHz @ boot
    .................................................. .................................................. ...

    Here is one 500+ shot:

I'll try to find some 32M stability at those settings

After that I'll start to find the max fsb on this board.
You are as good as your samples are!

How safe is 2.3v for memory and 1.7 for the NB? That seems like quite a bit.

For some reason when I OC my e8400 to any speed. I will run 3DMARK06 with my GPU at stock settings it starts to hang, and sometimes give me a blue screen? Is it do to the PCI clock being at stock? Or just a bad OC on the cpu or is it the memory. And what are you guys using for the PCI clock speed? 100-120?

    Thanks

I'm not suggesting to use those voltages 24/7.

I have used 2.15V for the mem all the time in past 6 months. When I use QX9650, NB V can be around 1.46V-1.55V, so maybe that 1.7V is not needed. I will test more and then we will see

Is 2000mhz just for benching or is it possible to have 24/7?
