500 for a few months. Not nesc. a statement about the board, just my symptoms and a question to the group about theirs. It could be that one of the older kits had degraded slightly and the new one just needs more by default. It could also be change in PSU I suppose. I also have a fresh Corsair 1000hx on hand to setup. We'll see. I don't really care what it is as long as I can pin it.

well at least you are open to the possibilities of what could be causing it. Let us know what it is when you nail the answer down in case someone else runs into a similar issue down the road. Good luck.

Thanks. I tried several tests and found that a nb bump pretty much cured that symptom. Stable at old clock once again. During testing I also noticed that my vcore is reading up a bit more than normal in windows and fluctuating a tad. Gotta break this thing down tomorrow and try the corsair.

At one point I left GTLs to auto and got a blue screen right as windows loaded. I have had them set manually for so long that I was curious to try auto - no good lol. Set them back manually and it's orthos and occt stable for hours.

OOPS wrong Thread Sorry. Just a quick question, whats the difference between 1.0 and 1.0A as to the video,ie PCI-E in bios?

Reason I ask is that I am switching my vid from an HD3870 which is 2.0 and bios detects 1.0A for the setting, and am going to an 8800GTX and just figured I may need to switch it to 1.0 in bios?

    Thanks

I don't know what the differences are but I have left it at 1.0a for any video card installed and never had an issue.

Has anyone anywhere gotten a q9450 450FSB stable on this board? I think the gtl ref's must be different for the 45nm Quads vs the 65nm Quads. I can't manage much over 400 FSB with everything set to auto. As I start adjusting GTL's I get 88 error code upon restart. I've had this chip up to 495FSB on another board so I know it can do it.

    Hey Zsams

    Liking your T2R P35 I see

Glad you like it. I am too busy to tweak much these days, but still love my T2R.

looks like I will be changing jobs so hopefully I have more free time to take care of certain things (thanks for being so patient Cantan) and get back into tweaking and resume benching.

but i like the 5/21 beta better than the 3/17 for my e8400 since there were more choices to tweak the ram

Thanks, is 1.4 too much vtt for 423 fsb, because it wasnt quite stable last night, 1 core failed, my muli is set at 6x so just testing for stable fsb, I raised the nb voltage a little bit to see if that was the cause of the 1 core failing, otherwise it looks like I need to mess with gtl. But first I thought I would check and see if that is a usual vtt for a q6600 and lt motherboard.

I have my VTT at 1.5v for stability and my FSB is only 425, I have tried lowering it but end up with failures. Setting it back to 1.5 and all is gravy again.

hmm so just look at the 65nm tables over @ anandtech or edge of stability and subtract 3-6% from each value. Thanks

No, 1 gtl setting is not 1%. http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3129&p=12

I'm running using Vista x64 and it's not giving me any problems. It's pretty nice once you get rid or turn off all the programs you don't need running.

And it can be huge in terms of install size..alright I'm not helping it's case.

The sand paper is going to be bought today and I have a nice piece of glass laying around. Thanks for the tip about checking out Autozone as I find what I needed. I'll lap it and posts results as soon as I can. I've also bought some of OCZ thermal paste so we'll see how it performs against Artic Silver 5.
