Is there a patch that would allow me to run SLI on x38 chipset?
Nope.
I think if you run 7900 series or lower then this driver works on any chipset, right?
I was under the impresions that GF8 series would not work.
Having said that I was party to seeing an as yet unreleased Intel board running SLI on 2x 8800GTX recently - the chances of this being available publicly are incredibly slim.
Ok, could someone (perhaps via PM if you're more comfortable that way) explain to me what exactly is involved with nVidia's driver encryption (I've heard mention of something about 12 keys... WHQL maybe?)? I'm not too terribly familiar with Windows' driver model, but for asynchronous encryption to work, you need the actual key itself to decrypt the code. That key would have to be stored within the binary release somewhere. Asynchronous encryption, polling a remote server would work, but then you wouldn't be able to install the drivers offline. Can anyone point me to some more detailed information?
hI THERE SO HAS ANYONE FIRGURED THIS ONE OUT YET? PERHAPS THIS SHOULD BE A personal e mail thing if so..Well if anyone has figured this out please e mail me hod333@hotmail.com
I have a m3a32-mvp deluxe and want to run my 2 8800gt,s in sli....Thanks much
someone should unsticky this thread
clearly there will be no more updates for newer chipset or we would have had something by now![]()
I agree, this topic is DEAD. I just bought what may be my LAST Nvidia mainboard (790i) and there is "talk" of corruptions. However a lot of talk of this corruption seems to be extreme FSB >2000 FSB combined with extreme ram overclocking and timings. I hope it is isolated to those extremes as I am now doing 1893 FSB @ 4.26Ghz on E8400
BFG stopped MBs after 680i and I know why now. I had four 680i replacements and 3 sets of ram replacements apparently after some time the 680i boards were eating up ram.
So if NV doesn't get their #$@ together I'll never buy another mainboard and possibly might be pissed enough to go over to RED and do crossfire with ATI on reliable and stable Intel chipsets.

Multiple video cards basically does very little except for benchmark scores anyways.
Says the guy with an economy PC and likely has never done 1920x1200 or 2560x1600 res on the newest games. It is FACT and I can easily show you these facts but if you just do some research you'll see that 1920x1200 or higher res shows 90-100% increase in performance. I in fact benchmark within games with SLI on and off. Also a little 2.4G opteron isn't enough CPU power to push a pair of SLI cards.
1280x1024 is 3DM06 default I get 18,300 with E8400 @ 4.26G that is 1.3Mpixels being pushed. When I go to 2560x1600 that's 4.1Mpixels, or 3x the pixels my score goes down to 13,300 why isn't it 1/3 the score if SLI doesn't do much.
You want real FPS scores in games go check the numerous XHD FPS scores in games from non-sli to SLI you'll see. If you have 1600x1200 or less then enjoy your single card :-)
BTW I need to update my sig to show 3008WFP monitor, E8400 @ 4.26G, 790i, DDR3 @ 1893mhz

BTW, I should also mention I have a Intel C2Q SLI PC running 1920X1200 I use mainly for testing and software/game reviews. There are hardly ANY games that use SLI/Crossfire enough to make it worth it.
You shouldn't judge a book by i's cover.
PS: Usnig 3D MArk scores to judge real world gaming performance is ridiculous. 3D Mark is a silly silly program that is only useful for boosting self-esteem and sperm counts.

Hey guys,
Just got registered here after about 2 weeks of waiting LOL. Oh well, I am glad I finally got activated!
Anyway, I am taking a crack at getting this working with new drivers. Not making any guarantees but I've got some good data so far.
Please see my thread over at techPowerup for some of the work I've been doing on this. I wanted to post here initially but couldn't due to the activation period :P.
http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?p=808821
Which was branched from Solaris17 thread on the issue here: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=58232
I think the audience for this is much larger here at XS since everyone is in constant pursuit of the latest greatest and (supposedly) unattainable.
Show us some proof like screensot of completed 3DMaro06 and CPU-Z + GPU-Z programs open.
Sorry I didn't make it clear. There is no "proof" as the current drivers don't work. We are trying to develop them but the testing pool of people with XF boards and 2 cards is rather small and there seems to be a higher proportion of said people here since this is an enthusiast community.
Therefore, the point of my post is to see who is interested in helping test these drivers as I only have one tester (sinister_steve) at this point.
Thanks.
Those beta screenies on Tech Powerup are worth nothing.
Believable screenshot looks like this:

Bulldog,
For the last time. YES they are not done. And YES those screenshots show basically squat. Solaris put them up on the first set of drivers he stared without me. We basically started two separate projects and now are working together. I'm a bit farther along but still haven't gotten it working yet.
Yes - I've seen what HWBot looks like and I'll be sure to use it as soon as a I get the chance..
At this point we aren't trying to PROVE anything. We are trying to get it working and need volunteers to help test.
So if you have a XF board and 2 SLI capable cards and want to try out the next driver set we whip up or help us run tests on the hardware then people let me know!
I´m still hoping that it can be done, maybe using 9800GX2 SLI code in drivers.
