    All the settings are identical to the one found in the link except for CPU PLL voltage, changed to 1.632v in order to get the 500x8 overclock (which he mentioned as well in some other post).

    So, props to him/her.

    First, sounds like you did not install XP hotfixes for Crossfire in XP at first.

    Secondly, Crossfire makes for just one device. Disable it to get things back to normal. Pain in the butt if you multi-monitor, for sure, but that's how it is.

    what driver version are you using? catalyst 8.3 tends to destroy your cpu score in crossfire. fastest catalyst for 2900s are 7.11 in 3dmark06.

    Vista?

    If so your looking at a re install, Vista is kinda wimpy on the hard crashes and after a small amount of time you wil need to do a clean install.

    I dont ignore anyone,( accept maybe my wife) if I dont have an answer I dont bother to comment is all. If I have a suggestion I will always post a reply...always. It is frustrating having your post go unanswerd. I always read every new post including yours . Sometimes I can offer some info / advice and other times I will just look foolish so I remain quiet. Please dont take my silence personal, I find your post's informative and you have help'd me many times in the past, so if at any time I can help you I surely will

    I have learned a fair bit from you guys already actually

    The last time I did any real overclocking was in the late 90's with a BP6 and a pair of Celeron 366's.

    Since 99% of the systems I build are for businesses, I don't get a chance to mess around a lot with OC'ing and the like. It is only recently when I've actually gotten around to make time to get back into this A LOT has changed!!!

    Only happens ingame...

    I added 2 more volts to northbridge to see if needed more juice but dont know why it would. Will see if it crashes again.

    Also is there any guidelines to what the FSB termination voltage should be set at, ive set mine at lowest cos told lower is better but dont know how you guys know whats good setting is for it, how do you work it out?

    I don't think anyone was ignoring you NF. There just aren't that many 9450 owners out there with this mobo. My Maximus is a Rampage conversion. Bios 403 was a disaster for me. 219 works better on the conversion and my Rampage Formula. IMHO clocks with a 9450 @ 3.6 and below are hardly XS worthy. I want my chips to last at least a year. I haven't pushed Vcore or FSBT over 1.4 on either. That's why I lurk more than I post. The 9450 thread does have some good info with braver soles getting 475 X 8.

    Probably not. Post your bios settings. Don't be afraid to run up to 1.40 on vcore and fsbt. The jury is out on whether anything over 1.40 vcore has adverse affects on 45nms. Some say the vcore limit is 1.45. Over 1.40 fsbt seems to be a proven chip killer based on my reading.

    CPU Voltage : 1.325 With loadline in auto I had to set 1.45 to get 1.38 actual
    CPU PLL Voltage : 1.52 keep below 1.70 actual
    North Bridge Voltage : 1.59 [B]I've used 1.70 with Q660 G0s[. Haven't gone over 1.65 with 8Gb on the 9450/B]
    DRAM Voltage : 2.12
    FSB Termination Voltage : 1.5 Should be below 1.40 for long term chip life

    CPU GTL Reference : auto Try 0.63. 0.67 worked for me on one chip with 3.6. Someone else on this site reported 0.63 was correct for 45 nms.
    North Bridge GTL Reference : auto Try 0.67
    DDR2 Channel A REF Voltage : auto

    Secondly, Crossfire makes for just one device. Disable it to get things back to normal. Pain in the butt if you multi-monitor, for sure, but that's how it is.

    You where right! just found out SP3 had this hotfix I din't have.

    Maximus Trouble

    Has Anyone else seen or had the following

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...1&d=1211867738

    All of my voltages & temps drop other than the CPU.
    I dont think it is temps and i was not loading the machine at all.
    I was playing music and that was all. It happens often (within two or three hours of starting the machine. Notice how aacentre.exe and everest.exe are using 25% of my cpu.

    Temps and voltages were.

    NB=37
    SB=35
    CPU=1.456
    FSB vtt voltage=1.42
    CPU pll voltage=1.62
    NB voltage=1.7
    SB voltage=1.1
    DRAM=2V

    I just went through this, its a pain in the ass to resolve.
    Delete Asus Suite and AACenter alltogether, there part of the problem.
    Then if you read a few pages back I posted updated chipset drivers, install them and it should be back to normal.

    Start > run >type regedit>press crtl +f> type aacenter.
    set the value to zero, then delete the file, reboot. AACenter is now removed.

    Then install updated NB driver and SB driver
