that is why the IP35 Pro is the best bang for the buck in the P35 performance category!..no wonder the IP35 Pro won Anandtech's "Gold" award for the best P35 board.
8.53% overall performance increase is a pretty good increase for upgrade boards...generally you are going to see around a 5% increase, and that stays true for the memory performnce going from the P35 to an X48....i did not go to an extreme mode with my memory...i approached memory timings more realistically with everyday application.
in video performance, the PCIe 2.0 spec appears to be showing its muscle....again, the card was not overclocked and PCIe bus was not overclocked
the higher hard drive score is probably reflective of running my Areca Raid 8x card in a full 16X speed PCIe slot compared to the Pro and other P35 boards having only the capability to run the 2nd PCIe 16x slot at 4x speed.
i ran the PCMark bench on the Giga board using the Intel Raid chipet and it had only a 28% increase over a single drive operation but was really under performing by a whopping minus 52% against the Areca Raid card...the Areca card has an almost 100% increase in performance over a single drive environment...this is your typical 7.2K rpm drive with 16mb of cache...Raptor's live in their own special category because of the 10K rotational platter speed....i wish i had two raptors to compare between two 7.2K to see what the difference was on the Areca card.
