Very nice CPU my friend! and nice benching, I wish I could play with some nforce 790 :]

Don't be afraid of giving 1.8 - 1.9v on DICE, it will be everything ok, you have very nice stepping of cpu

1 of my 45nm cpu died on 1.3v @ 4.2 GHz @ W/C (have never been under subzero) , other on stock, and my newest chip (was more under 1.8v @ phase than all others together and didn't degrade, is working extremely well ), what I can say from my experience, if 45nm chip is going to be dead, there is no difference whether it takes on core 1.6, 1.7, 1.8v, 1/9v and there are 45nm almost unbreakable e.g. No_name's, so it's lottery. It's my theory in which I believe

Well, can be a good theory
My QX for exaplme is runnig from 15/11/07, dayly use(1.31v), phase change(1,73v) and LN2(1,91v) and till now no problems
I know that someone has bench @ 1.8v on air without problems(extreme example) but I think it's a little bit on the razor's edge
But I think also that what you say can be true

thanks a lot guys - I am more of a 3DMark guy that a Pi guy (though I love Pie )... I to lost a E8400 at lower voltage on water though not sure if it was the VTT voltage that killed it

under Dice I maxed the NB - south bridge at 1.45 and the FSB at 1.4 (I think) and left the GTL options alone as I am still new to this Bios and am vague on what exactly it is doing (HELP )

boot 560... up to around 583~ and used the nvidia tool to get 590 ... I varied the VTT voltage a bit for different runs just to see if I got better result... that was hit or miss... I will try to do some better documentation of voltages later but these runs I was just doing rough runs and getting to know the ropes of Dice benching - a lot of fumes but very fun and rewarding
