    Intel X58 coming out 08 Q4

Today we find out that the first Bloomfield supporting mobo will be Intel X58(with ICH10/R) coming out Q4 this year. Because Bloomfield have already got memory controller integrated, so north bridge will be simplified. The biggest point of the board will be the odd lay out, dual channel, Triple channel DD3 supporting and Dual PCIe 2.0 X16 or Quad PCIe 2.0 X8.

The north bridge have couples of new features, but Intel keeps ICH10/R as its south bridge, so there is nothing more to say about it.

So X58 will be both extreme, highend and premium at the same time?

Well this will be intersting none the less. Bloomfield, what socket is that again? since 2 different sockets is going to be confusing. But due to this, I see this motherboard costing between 450-700 dollars. Easily.

So why Warboy thing those mobos are going to be insanely pricey?
I were extecting them to be cheaper than current high-end 790i and X48 boards beacuse Nehalem needs lots of simplier chipset so chipset mustbe cheaper also.

Unfortunately this isnt the way it works .
Atom was supposed to be very cheap as well, look how Intel jacked up prices as soon as they saw the huge interest in it

Whether AMD likes it or not, Intel sill be introducing the first 45nm-built Nehalem processors in Q4 and with them, a whole new range of silicon chips will arrive. One of them, the Tylersburg chipset, has now been exposed to bearing the X58 marketing name. Set to be paired up with the ICH10 southbridges, the X58 will be used on Socket 1366 motherboards and act as the assistant of the quad-core Bloomfield processors.

There will also be socket 10xx for board with only Dual Channel and others for the New version of Timna that Fusion will copy. Knowing Intel, there might, MIGHT, be P51, P53, and P55 to go along with the X58. Heck there might even be a X55 with less PCI-E 2.0 support like 2 8X PCI-E slots.

Compared to what? the crappy celerons are more expensive. I think Atom could be cheaper but is still cheaper than Celerons.

That's a validation board that will never see the retail market. No Nvidia chips on that one.

nope, there will be no more chipsets other then the south bridge on the lower end stuff. all the normal northbridge stuff is now in the cpu package.

Tylersburg will have a different product name for its uses in DP and MP platforms though.
