i got mine today yay, when i get my test rig set up
it will be tested on a Q6600 on a maximus
D5v, MCR-320, 3x D12SH-12
Arguements over the testing methods I suppose...
Now that we know that the V2's base was tweaked as well, that 4-5 degrees may be looking more and more credible as we speak...
still, its waaaay too early to rely on just one tester...but it all has to start from the first small step...science is about accumilating data, and finding the most consistant group...
great work smee![]()

I'm STILL waiting for my EK Supreme to arrive...
Don't think I'll be in time to produce anything meaningful if I had to wait for a V2 as my testing methods would be no better than Smee's...quick and dirty comparisons at best
How bout lending you my V1 and Supreme (when it gets here next week) and you can pit them against a V2 (which I'm sure you're getting)

Hey all,
Yea yesterday was a mess and I was really mad and some of the people who couldn't keep there trap shut and leave me alone.
I got the thread locked, I'll be posting better results soon in a new thread, but the results will be taken differently.
I'll be doing 5 mounts for each test, messuring the Ambient and Water temp with some thermal probe's that I have, and I will get load temps by using either CPU burn or Everest for a 10 minute warm up and then a 30 minute recorded load test (I'll have Coretemp log all the temps).
The CPU (QX6700 ES) will be at stock speeds (2.66Ghz) with 1.4v, and the cooling setup will be the same:
MCR320 w/6 50CFM fans, Laing D5, MCRES, Fuzion V2.
The coolant is made up of straight Distilled water with a couple drops of PT Nuke.
I'll be doing this over this coming weekend, so it'll be a little while before the results come in.
But as you can see, there are plenty of others here with Fuzion V2's that are going to be testing also.
This is a good thing of course, because the more results we have, the better idea we have of how well the block will perform.
Again, stay tuned!!![]()

Looking forward to your and others results on this. Don't let the comments get you down, the suggestions to improve your testing are good they could have been delivered in a more civil way though. I have been waiting on getting the blocks for my new build and I am glad between the dtek v1 nozzles, the ek supreme and now the dtek v2 and XSPC there are alot of nice choices as soon as a little more data comes in. I am leaning toward one of the dteks or maybe the supreme, the XSPC looks nice but i don't like the idea of the pressure holding down the block to be all one acrylic, seems more likely to have problems not being made of metal. Along with cpu blocks alot of new gpu blocks for the gx2 so many choices. Good luck with the testing.
the thermalright's backplate is actually subtlely different from the dtek backplate - i dont have any pictures but i will try to describe it.
the dtek nut fittings on the 4 mounting points dont have blank guides jetting out from the nut itself. the thermalright does. In my recent mounting trials with the TRUE, i found that these lip guides could potentially prohibit the tension required to maintain even pressure on the IHS. also, the dtek has a double-sided sticky foam thing so the backplate sticks to the motherboard whereas the thermalright backplate has your run-of-the-mill one-sided sticky foam things.
as previously mentioned, the scythe backplate does indeed have a TON of stickyness on its backplate, and does indeed take a LOT to get off a motherboard, especially the first time.
for the glory of bardob!
smee sorry to throw a wrench in your works.
But when you tested the fusion how long was the old one mounted? You can compare a new mount with an old mount. They both need to be new mounts. :T
Anyhow i see it got locked. :\ Smee, if you lost on why some of the concepts, pm me.
I may have simplar explainations to them, but scott is correct, he says it a bit straight and to the point, but he's correct. :T
Scott = nikhsub1
He's also one of the few that i take as almost given, unless i tested something first hand and saw something wierd. :T
And yeah he talks like that to me too sometimes, oh wellz, i thank him for being straight with me and saving me time on failed projects. :T

No prob. They were both brand new mounts.
Yea I've been talking to Martin and Scott, and i've learned a lot of how testing should really be, and this time I'm going to do it right....Anyhow i see it got locked. :\ Smee, if you lost on why some of the concepts, pm me.

First though, I'm going to have to get more thermal paste!!! xD I'm almost out of my brand new tube of MX-2...And I only did 7 mounts.....
I'll send you a pm though.![]()

mmmmm....
The thing is this, i cant also understand how just a simple top change would pull that much performance.
:\
1-2C okey, 2-3C going to wishing. 3-4C asking for too much. 4-5C if this is true i'll buy one tomorrow. :P
But basically for that kind of performance, you would need accelerators on accelerators, if you get my drift. :T

Read THIS thread Martin posted.
4-5c is a big difference, and I agree with you.
I can't wait to re-test and see if I get the same difference though....
PM sent!![]()

If that much difference is true as well, I'll buy one too
Just get the testing right. There is a lot who can post results but only 2-3 I can trust for accurate testing dataIt take 1-2 weeks to do a proper testing with both old and new blocks.
When you fit the Quad Core plate, do the two holes go over the two cores?

Yea, thats what the plate does, you just need to make sure the orientation fo the plate does match up with the 2 cores

Just ordered one of these for my new build. I figure it can't perform any worse than the V1 so might as well take the risk of it performing better.

Breathe me in
Breathe me in
I disbelieve in separation. I close my eyes to see you.
This is for you, everything I am. This is for you, take it from me.
I, I disbelieve separation. I close my eyes
there's no escaping me
This is for you, everything I am. This is for you, take it from me.
In your heart in your soul. I perceive rejuvenation
Breathe me in. I am forever. Deep within I am eternal.
I will return to you. I am with you always. I will never turn away from you.
