Thanks. I will check out the Xtreme Sharpies right now
Yes the shroud should do the job. It will tie into the HDD display panel and the Optical Bay side trim...

I just ordered three sets in Medium Fine and Extra Fine. I had not seen Oil Base Paint Sharpies before..that's going to be very useful. Now when I meet Bill Owen I can have him sign my Cordless Drill...

Unless it has something to do with the air up here in Canada, I find sharpies to have a slight blue-black tint when applied to some metal. This is especially true on anodized aluminum (of course we're talking a black finish here). I tested most of the permanent markers available and found what until this moment, I referred to as my secret touch up weapon.
behold...

Not pleased with the new camera picture quality...might have to take it back..
That's where we are at the moment..time to figure out the loop...this ought to be a blast...
Assembly is so much fun...and so messy...
Case is on it's face as I put stuff in place...this is not a race...I must leave no trace so FlyingA2 thinks I am an Ace...
All three rads are installed. Everything sort of keys together...you gotta put the PSU in first...then the bottom rad and fans then the PA160 then the top fans then the top rad...
Going together nicely so far. Maybe tomorrow I can work out the reservoir idea now that I have something to go toward...

Heavy metal, now poetry, and a crazy wild rig in the works to boot!
Think I'll make some popcorn and stay tuned for the finale.

Haha, glad to see you went with a 140mm fan on the PA160![]()

Great work CD! Even though I've looked at this a lot, I still find the triple rad mounting idea pure genius![]()
I got the Raptor X drives mounted. It worked out very nice. I used a Scythe Anti-Vibration HDD mount on the top drive and drilled and tapped that to be attached to the support above...the lip of the support secures the Scythe plate and I used a grommet and thumbscrew to sock it down.
The second Raptor X is mounted to the first drive using a joining plate I fabricated from aluminum. I cushioned the drive-to-drive mount with a piece of foam tape. Then The second drive get's the other half of the Scythe mount and presses firmly into the chassis floor where I use a strip of industrial Velcro to secure it.
To remove the drives one undoes the single thumbscrew and tilts them out through the non window side of the case.
There is plenty of airflow provided from the exhaust of the PA160 into the chamber and plenty of room for the pumps that now need to be located.
The drives look so right I am thinking about skipping the acrylic fascia piece.
I need to change out my camera at BB for a better model...and then pictures.
With the HDD mount out of the way it's now just a matter of locating pumps and getting blocks mounted onto the board so I can precisely lay out the loop.

It's already done yhou'll just have to wait a lil bit to see. Also got the the three pumps mounted and the supply lines on them. Now it's time to sort out the reservoir..which will be an interesting project. New Camera is charging...pics soon.

Yep I am thinking it looks good enough to not have to hide anything with acrylic after all.

Oh yeah, that's the stuff!
I like that hard drive set-up too.
I believe that's one of those modded Sunbeam controllers from your site, no? I was eyeing one of those the other day, but wasn't sure how it would fit into the Cosmos with the tight front door. But the fit looks real nice!

Lookin' good CD!
Wots that in the top bay above the optical drive? Looks like a bill changer but I can't see where the coins come out.
I can't wait to see the cable management.

Btw, can we fit a 3x120mm radiator on top of the classic Cosmos 1000 without any mods? I know a 2x120mm fits perfectly fine![]()
Intel Inside
Just got a couple triple fesers, so I can confirm that it JUST fits into the thin part of the tapered opening towards the front of the case top (once that black vented thing is popped off), leaving almost 3 inches to spare from the rear. Not sure about other brands.

Nice pictures......![]()
How you going to cool the raptors???? My Raptor in that position was in 47ºC without any cooler. But then I put a cooler and the temperature down to 35ºC....
The raptors are a very very hot HDD.

47C is not anything to worry about. It's fluctuations in temp that kill HDDs. The air coming of the central rad and the fan above the chamber will provide plenty of cooling there.
FlyingA2 provided plenty of "real" hardware...and that will be coming along presently. If you check the first page you will see a mountain of gear that goes in here...
But no sense in breaking out anything until I have gotten the loops sorted a bit more. I want to get the reservoirs going first.
