    Here is my latest stable.

I kept getting a failure after 2 - 2.5 hours and my games would crash but not BSOD windows. I remember in a previous post in these forums that someone mentioned bumping up VTT a notch or two to provide stability. 1.16 VTT and the proper gtl refs fixed those crashes and 8+ hours and counting.

I still need to tweak out my ram for sure and also push the cpu harder but i'm pretty happy with getting 4ghz stable so far.. shesh it's took a long time.

Imagine a cloths line with items hung on it... the line is the FSB and the items are the cores on the CPU and the chipset. Adjusting GTL strengthens the hold each item has to remain on the line...incorrect settings the items fall off the line.

Its a fine balance to keep everything sitting sweet on the FSB, each item has to be tuned at high FSB bus speeds as you are at the upper end of its tolerance.

from my testing gtl settings are forgiving @ low fsb the higher you go the tighter setting after 500 you gotta be verry precise but still the board is forgiving on dual cores much tougher on quads
i can be off by 10 n i will still boot as long as the other settings relate
once each setting dont relate you wont boot
1 wrong setting is like having a flat tire
from what i noticed the higher the setting for 65nm the hotter the board gets but its more stable

Hmmm, I might need to adjust my exhaust fan and put another fan on my TRUE for push/pull. At the moment i only have 1 fan pushing and nothing on the NB at all. I'll also check the other posts in this forum to see what average is.

I keep forgetting which is which... NB is chipset and PWM are system?

    Thanks for pointing that out.

Probably not happening in the next few days and it will not do for you what you want anyway, which is the dream of enough FSB to push a small multiplier cheap cpu faster. The whole design of the X48 chipset was to have its' best performance in the 466 FSB range which was the natural progression from 200, 266, 333, 400 and then 466, since Intel designs both the cpu and the chipset.
Back and forth from board to board it seems.

Hello, I just got this mobo after a terrible experience w/ a 790i S2E. The board itself is awesome, overclocked with easy and no regrets so far. My only problem is I can't shutdown my computer. After I log off from Windows, you can hear 2 clicks coming from the mobo, it shutdowns and restarts after 2 sec. I disconnected the rainbow cable, to make sure there's no short, and same thing. Does anyone a fix for this or do I need to RMA?? Many thanks in advance.

I'm having an odd problem with this board and I'm hoping someone else has a fix maybe.

I set my computer to hibernate in the mornings when i go to work but some times from work i use Wake on LAN to get my PC up and running so i can pull some information off of it. The problem I'm having is the first wake works flawless but after i suspend it again and try to wake it doesn't work. The post code shows CF which is CMOS check.

    What's that?

I need that beta bios. My ram can pass 1066 stable, and 450+ fsb, but whenever I set it to 333/800 and go past 410 FSB, I get crashes. I've tried EVERYthing. I currently use a NB of 1.30, VTT of 1.35. any higher causes crashes in OCCT. I'll post my bios settings when I can see better (its late).
