Also on reset bios on failed clocks, you can use CMOS reloaded - load last bootable setting option to get you back to prior state

I could very well be mistaken, so please excuse me if I am incorrect. However, I believe that this board typically does not hit as high an FSB with 45nm dual cores as the Commando.

Not saying you can't go over 500, that I'm unsure of, but I just don't think you'll get as high as on a Commando.

if only i knew that before . u wouldnt believe the amount of times i felt like setting this unit on fire and taking up another hobby lol
thanks for the tip gys , i think that app will prove very useful for me .
eva i think i need to spend more time on that i4 site of urs, some useful info on there.
any way after a whole day at it again , im back at 475/1181/3.8ghz again but with only 2x1gb installed. its occt stable as well. but im about to install those single sided modules again , im sure it will stuff it all up again.
ive learnt also that with my cpu i need alot of volts -1.5 vcore 2.37vdim and 1.6vnb
ive tried playing with fine delay but its like winning lotto , theres to many number combinations and no reference to go by. and ive tried every possible vtt. seems like it only likes volts ,and lots of em.

airee , i had a 500fsb for a while with my x6800 , it took alot of vcore and vnb . its hardly worth it . i doubt ur cpu will last long at that voltage. but for me it was the only way to get it stable at that fsb. unless u maybe use 2x1gb at very loose timings and lower ur corespeed a fair bit maybe that would help not sure. but i know i needed way over 1.5 vcore to get occt stable at 500fsb with 1:1 ratio.

    Hey all!

I had great expectations for the x48 boards. However, I can't get my x3350 past 3.65ghz. I was able to hit 3.8ghz on my Abit IP35 Pro board. Have all standard memory timings set to factory, and voltages set to stable settings. But no matter how high I set voltages on any settings, I can't get this sucker to go any higher than 3.65ghz. You would think that it would at least be able to hit the same speed as the P35 board. The only thing I can think of is to start jackin with the GTL settings (totally confused on how to set this according to VTT etc), since I have cranked the VTT way up. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Man...I went up and down in the GTL in increments of 5, and never could get a stable post. Reset the bios, left GTL disabled...nb 1.65 vtt 1.6, and it boots right up at 3.6ghz, 100% stable in Vista too. Don't get it.

The GTL REF when Disabled defaults to 67%, and is not actually Disabled as such, just the tweaking part, and that's why some people get better results that way

I would say to always try your overclocks with it disabled first, and if you don't have stability, then try some tweaking.

1.6v VTT is quite high though.

Agreed. Also, I found this motherboard HATES extra NB volts. I can ONLY run stable at 1.33 NB. One more or less causes crashes in occt ram test. Start off at the minimum, with GTL disabled, and ram set to its rated speed (no OC). Once you get that stable, work from there

Thanks for the input Clunk. You are da man! Really appreciate all the input and help you give. Don't post much here, but lurk quite a bit.

It's just frustrating when I know the cpu is capable of higher...as it went up to 3.8ghz on my Abit P35 board. I bought this board to have the latest and supposedly greatest, and it doesn't hit speeds that the P35 did. Frustrating...ugh. I was expecting it to go higher of course, or at least match it.

The board is totally willing and able, its the USERS' settings that will get you. The options in BIOS are very technical and advanced, plus the auto timings are fairly tight. Yes clunk is a super huge help

OCZ FLEX PC2-9200 ... No BOOT!

Hey all, got my QX9770 in and tried to boot with my 4GB (2x2GB) OCZ PC2-9200 FLEX at stock voltages... but it was a no go! Tried one stick and two and tried different slots. Nothing ... just a good ole C1 error on the board ...

She booted with my 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500 Reaper at stock voltages and then I upped the DRAM to 2.1v, NB to 1.45v, CPU 1.35v and VTT 1.15v ... then tried the FLEX again with those settings in the BIOS, but it was still a no go on the BOOT. Any suggestions on this? I'd hate to think that the new memory is bad ... anyone have luck with the FLEX memory from OCZ?

I hear ya. I just want to see someone with a 45nm quad go higher on this board...and what settings they used.

So I tried upping VTT, but I got errors faster. Should I just bump both NB and VTT one at a time at 420-440 fsb, or can I blame another setting? If so, how much Mhz per bump am I looking here?
