Thats quite nice for a Single GPU card, but they used a 4400+ for benchmarking .

Dunno about the hardware speculations, I seem to be a lot more sceptical than you people.. However Nvidia is using optimized drives for Vantage from what Ive read . Optimized drivers could boost the score quite a bit, no?

Every driver is an optimized driver... I don't know what you're talking about... that's the whole point of drivers.

Yeah, but I believe he means that the rumor about GT200 being 3X faster than 8800 GTX could be comparing GT200 with a Vantage optimized drivers vs. 8800 GTX with an older driver.

I'd imagine someone who supposedly knew GT200 scores had access to drivers to run it, as well as the 8800GTX on the same special drivers though. Or maybe it's all BS.

    You knew all along BenchZowner

So how fast are we talking?

GTX 280 same speed as 9800gx2 in games that optimize SLI power (CoD4, CoH come to mind) and 25-30% better in games that aren't?

    Is this real?

    The resolution is 2560x1600

BTW Its a single card still in ALPHA stage and has very less driver support thus it scored so low 3d mark 06 only 16K someone tells me it can score around 19-21K when launched.

    Update #1:

These are not a single Q6600 you really think we have any normal machines in the lab.

The are two Q6600 (LGA 775) processers on a twin socket motherboad on a new nvidia chipset.

If no one knows XFX also produces M/B and our relationship with nvidia is stronger than most companies.

You may know what Nvidia is releasing but you have no idea what AMD will compete with. You make it sound like AMD NEEDS more ROPs.
HD4870x2 may or may not be able to compete with GT200 but it should be a very interesting product and I have a feeling it might surprise some people.
An interesting point is that 8800GT and 9800GTX only have 16 ROPs, although they have 3-4x the texture units (56 to 64 vs ATI's 16). I think that 16 ROPs are sufficient. The main problem is the lack of texture units.
