hello guys!! i've got the same problem with temperatures like ReDRaiN..
i've got Q807Ā241 e8400. system in signature.. (abit ip 35 pro bios 16)
atm i don't have screens but my Voltages and OC is:
500x8=4000 with Voltages 1.2825 bios->1.250 Cpu-z->1.210 under ORTHOS.
and my Tuniq works at 2000RPM and i have temperature about 80 in realtemp..but CPU works stable. 1 hour in orthos is stable with 1.210v under load
only temp is high.. how it can be?? should i change my cooler to another one? or any ideas why temp so high????

Prolly borked sensors Tarantul... can you test at eg 6 x 500 and see if you still get these insane temps... did you try realtemp ? and calibrated the sensors ?
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Q807 you mean ( year 2008/7th week so around mid february 2008 ).

yes IMO very good batch , my second xeon is Q807A791 and primed stable 4ghz with only 1.20v load in cpuz but temps very high ( vid was 1.07 ) didn't push it more as I sold it .

I have an e8500 Q807 chip with a 1.050 vid and the temps are definetly off. My temps are as hot as my qx9650 was at the same speed. I have 1.275 volts being pumped into the chip and its around 70c.

Does anyone find adjusting CPU VTT, PLL to help with stability with overclocking?

I don't, was just wondering. With the E8400s and E3110s I had, seemed that vcore was all that really matter so I leave VTT and PLL at the min settings.

Nah, me either , using 1.10 vtt and PLL dont no anything more or less..
there's just a brick wall where the mobo wont go further, and no VTT or PLL did help that

I've just knocked my CPU voltage down to 1.275v, VTT is at 1.35v, and I'm running stable at 4.0 Ghz (500 fsb x 8).

Doesnt really need screens, just found a lower stable voltage for 24/7 use.

I use it at 4250 Mhz for benchmarks, but its not orthos stable at 500 fsb, hardly makes any difference at all over 4.0 ghz, and needs bumping up to 1.35v to be stable enough to bench.

475 Mhz fsb with 4.275 Ghz used to be 2 hours stable on my old ram, but the ram wasnt stable :p

I cant get everything stable at the same time lol, but my new ram is nice and it was cheap.

Oh, and my Ģ66 MSI P35 Neo-2 maxes out stable at 530 Mhz FSB o.O.

Pretty darn good for a cheapo board.

I love this "cheap" board! Great Overclocker. Look at my 3dmark06 score all air. What is you nb setting for your 500x8 24/7 overclock. My 24/7 is 4.0Ghz at 1.288 volts 445x9 Vtt1.325 NB 1.4 Thanks man.

My northbridge is a little high at 1.475v which is good for 475-530 mhz.

1.45v was stable up to 475 fsb, but higher then that it crashes without 1.475v.

Im not even going to bother trying to find my ram maximum, 2x2 Gb PC6400 at my speed and timings is just great

I need to put all my ram subtimings to their highest settings, but that hardly does anything to performance (63-15-15-15).

But yea, best budget P35 on the market = MSI Neo 2 for Ģ66 in the uk.

Why do you need to do this?

I would think that this would horribly affect performance. Maybe not in all benchmarks, but in real-world settings it would. I'm assuming your CAS latency is 15, that is three times as slow as a setting of 5.

Am I correct? I'm just starting to learn about ram timings.

Are you sure your heatsink is seated right? When i had my zalman, around the same voltage. Mine read 50c in Realtemp and 60c in HW monitor for the cores.

I'm wondering the same thing. Newegg this week received the biggest restock to date. Instead of selling out within hours they have had them in stock for days. Originally they started with a limit of 20 ... now you can put 99 in your cart. Link-Dink-A Doo.

Just got my 2 E8400's both Q808A442 batch pack date 04/04/2008
Wafer nr 7a1181 and 7a1139, both CPU's seem to have correct working sensors, both idling around 29-31°C at stock... VID for both 1.1125

39 now in the rig first letting it prime for a few hours near stock voltage before cranking her up...

K small update crancked her up to 3.6ghz so 9 x 400, needs 1.21Vcore to get into windows (not a good sign) , prime stops after 10 secs... 1.26 under load allows me to run prime for over an hour... 4ghz needs 1.38Vore to be sort of stable... (all Vcore under load via CPU-Z)

Testing other CPU, but preliminary results are the same... bummer lol

Conclusion Q808A442 pretty average batch... temps are good but needs too much voltage...

yeah I think there is something wrong with the q807 chips, they OC like crazy on lower then normal volts, but the temps on them seem to be a litle out of whack. I touched the bottom part of my heatsink and it was pretty cool, but the temps maxed around 70c for a 4ghz chip with only 1.24 volts is a little high.
