Nah, this boards restarts for many stuff, mostly everyting except voltages and PL.

my P5E3 Premium shipped with the 0151 BIOS, I flashed it to the 0204 BIOS.
I can not boot into windows vista ultimate with any Bios settings other than default settings for either BIOS 0151 or 0204. Been trying for about 4 hours now...![]()
I am using a QX9770, 74GB Raptor HD, 2x1GB DDR3 1800 Gskill, 9800GX2, 1KW PSU...cooling by air for intial setup (TRUE120)...plenty of fans and caseless.........Can't figure this one out, any assistance/advice you can give will be appreciated.
you disabled al the spread spectrums?
I also use the black slots for DDR3
yes I dsiabled the spread spectrum for cpu and pcie
My ram is residing in A2/B2 (black ones) I did switch just to see if orange could help (A1/B1).
Have anyone measures the real voltages on this board? Im curious about it, i myself dont own a multimeter, and cant afford it right now
and i really want to know what real NB and specially what vdimm it actually gives out on a given setting in bios, have someone done this? or can please someone do this? would really appreciate this!
regards.

I never use 400 strap, ever on any board
before with 204 bios, 266 strap worked good, now when i flashed with 401 that doesnt work anymore and im using 333, dont know what has happend.
will try later with some settings.

To my luck my E8400 is terrible at overclocking. I may have to get another one however I have not yet tried the new bios 0401 and will give it a spin tonight finally! Been extremely busy with school and work. At 1.34vcore I can get windows to boot but just fails the prime tests in a minute to three. However, when I run 3dmark 06 it seems fine and I score 16,565, btw at 3.6(400x9). Any better results with the bios revision?

Nah, maybe a bit more stable ... and this 266 strap dont at the same fsb anymore![]()

Yeah it's a good board actually...
once you get a hold of the settings, it is a bit tricky in the beginning, it dont act like other boards in the settings, and are very volt sensetive on TO high voltage for what you have set, etc 1.49 nb work, and you put 1.51 and it doesnt boot etc, putting GTL to high wont boot the board either, its a learning process![]()
But it woorks nice and can keep tight timings, im stable now 4,2Ghz, PL6 at 470fsb ram 1870, 7-6-5-18 CR1 , getting 12400 read 41,3 latency, thats awsome at this low cpu/fsb!
before with P5E3 Dlx board and maximus, i was getting 12500 with DLX at RAM 2000, so this X48 sure are betterin performance way at least..

Yeah i can probably go higher than 470, but if i want to keep ram at CL7 and reasonable amount of vdimm, ill keep it like this and 2.1v.
will try now, never tried ddr2000 on this board actually hehe...
gotta try...bbl
POS board, it just wont, whatever i do it wont load win at ddr2000, NOT WITH PL9 or anything, tried ALL now, it just wont..
allways BSOD at Ntfs.sys. now im mad....or now im calming down i have given up..
so strange now im in win 1920 flawlessly...will try to increase step by step to se where it blows.
480 seems max at 970 RAM, then it wont go further nomather what...
weird bios, it wont even post with the lower divider under 1:2 ..

Plea for help!!!
Anyone running P5E3 Premium board (Bios now 0401) with an ASUS EN9800GX2 (or any GX2 board) - I have RMA'd one GX2 already which was allegedly good (according to supplier)...Need to establish if there is an inherent issue with GX2 (or ASUS GX2) and P5E3 Premium....Cheers!
I had initial problems with the board not posting. Had to reset CMOS everytime any change was made in bios. After disabling express gate and resetting CMOS, things seem to be working better.
Thanks for the advice Metro! I had already disabled Express Gate to no joy (as piles of other posts indicate probs due to exporess gate)! I sent the card back to supplier and they reckon it was ok.
I was wondering if anyone else is running 9800GX2 with the P5E3 Premium Mobo - before I source another 9800GX2 or a different gfx card....
This P5E3 Premium is slowly doing my head in.
Since I have bought it the damn thing always upon cold boot brings up the error message below;
"CPU core to bus ratio or VID configuration has failed"
I have only changed the FSB to 400 and multiplier to 7.5 (Running a QX9650).
My memory is OCZ DDR3 1800 and everything runs fine when rebooting normally.
I have seen this error message on the ASUS forums on some of the X38 boards but no one really seems to have a definitive fix.
My board has had 2 BIOS updates with the latest one being v0401 and nothing seems to make a difference.
If I run this board at default settings ie, 333FSB etc it seems to run ok (at least the last ime I tried!).
The whole point of this board was to go past 450FSB etc and if i cant get past 333 or so without booting from cold with this error I'm gonna give in.
Should I RMA this board or is it something else such as voltages. Bearing in mind that after the error I enter BIOS hit exit and it runs Vista fine. If I reboot its fine. Switch it off at the mains and it fails on next cold boot.
Please help before I take a hammer to this.
Thanks
