I am not suggesting to avoid the RAM altogether. It's very rare that 2GB sticks would do 2000.Heck, most won't do even 1800 stable @ 2V. Also, it could be my processor that is not allowing the board to POST. I am getting my GSkills today(1x2GB), we will see how it goes.

I, at the direction of others here (you should read this thread from the beginning, it's not sadistically long yet, and there's some good info....not a dig, just a suggestion, I know you're frustrated....I am too, having RAM problems....anyway), I had to use awardflash to flash the 0511 and 0601 BIOS the "old fashioned" way.

NEVER use the windows flash utility.

Can't help you on the other stuff. Sorry and good luck.
Thanks for your reply. I was so close to buying an Enermax 1000w PSU today when I got a reply from Asus Tiawan telling me to use Award Bios Flash to flash the old fashioned way.

But It gets worse, I have tried to update the BIOS using awdflash version 1.33 [lastest version] but it has frozen at 50% I have not turned off the power or reset the system, as I am awaiting instructions from Asus or any other experienaced user who can get me out of this loop without frying the BIOS CHIP with a restart mid-upgrade.

If I have to currupt the BIOS will I have to send this 3rd SIIE mobo for RMA or do you guys know a way of saving this FLASH upgrade? The thought of disconnecting my W/C loop for the 4th time is getting me down .

Any AWARD FLASH SAVING TRICKS appreciated.

So what is your max OC so far with your QX9650 and the S2E at the above settings Justfire? Wondering because I just picked up new QX9650 myself for $750.00 and sold my Q6600 for -$200.00 so basically $550.00 for a new QX9650 retail box. Getting it tomorrow wondering how far you went with your setup on yours..

Tyke, good to see that you are finding stability now with your QX9650.

Yes, but I am disappointed that I cannot get a higher FSB. Also running at certain FSBs (e.g. 1600MHz) still gives me lots of problems.

Update: Just found out that I have got corrupted files using these settings. Memtest reports no memory errors, and Prime95 runs OK for hours!! Going to reinstall without raid to see if it sorts the problem.

    some qx9650 results:

The key was HTT. The same settings didn't work with HTT on auto, but raised HTT frequency to 210, passed SPI 32M.

    Always lock on 250 HTT
    And 125 for PCI-E busses
Once you have a good stabile OC you can try to up these speeds.

What is the best TEMP readings monitor out there for the S2E? I have been using Core Temps 0.98 and Real Temp 2.41. But both are off huge is degrees?? Also you guys may want to read this from anandtech.com about some settings to get stable.. Some of you may have read it already.. Also Beware of VTT - it's a lurking time bomb.. HERE

    This MoBo is just awesome

I am just quicktesting some things, and b00m i hit my magic "Wall" (note: it has been tested on the little Stock !nt3L Cooler)

when i have more time this week, i will go deeper into my settings and start tweaking this thing.

My memory is not the best for OC'ing, but this will change soon.

Excuse me for the very less information in my picture, but i just wanted to save this quick for my picturewall. *lol*

What are the advantages of upping the frequencies? I might try it out myself. Right now i have them manually set at 100, 100, 200.

Has anybody tried HTT @ 333 x3??. This is the setting that AMD uses for their platform. I wonder what effect does this have.

Even when everything else (Memtest and Prime95) is running OK I still get corrupt files. Are you checking for file corruption using SFC in windows?

You need to use EZ Flash fafoylis.
First flash to 0512 using EZ Flash, and then to 0601 ( with EZ Flash again )
