Thanks, I'm itching for the new ram. This "junk" i have now hits a wall at 4.4ghz. With this low voltage chip, can't wait to see some 3dmark numbers!

I don't like how much voltage this takes. Any suggestions? It's only stable for about a minute on prime95. I'm getting to the point where I don't want to add any more vcore.

im in a simalar spot . can game etc @4.0 but im only just getting up to 3.75ghz with 1.328v and orthos stable at 4.0 it lock in about a minute even giving it 1.4v bios whihc i odnt fancy so i backed down.
also my vid is even lower 1.1v !

Yeah, i love it. My VID is actually 1.1125v. You would think it would be lower.

I tried almost stock voltage for 4Ghz (1.20v) but orthos failed in 35 minutes, which is still amazing to me

xeons counterparts batch Q807A091 are very good as the one I had ( yes vid is 1.07v but I'm not so sure it is very important past + 4ghz . I'd say low vid > high temps ) My current xeon 's ( Q746A534 ) vid is 1.115 and stable 4ghz with 1.29v not so much higher than Q807 , and supports 540 fsb max air so nice too .

or Tarowa and C1anid3' ones

I saw another good E8400 batch q745 stable with 1.21v like yours

Very nice! Temps are a bit high though?

I had my hopes up when i saw it hit 30 minutes at 1.20v.. then it failed at 35 minute mark

yes , I'm actually thinking the lower vid you have , higher temp with such chips . Might be check for that .

My xeon Q746 has cooler temps for 1.125 vid with same TRUE 120

You have bad luck like me
I have the same batch and I can’t go over 3.9Ghz prime stable with 1.376V (1.42 bios) but the temps are good don’t pass 57C on real temp.
the worse thin ...
My old E6850 can do 3.8Ghz with 1.41V on bios

yep thats the real vcore... the guys in team japan run there chips with over 2.0v with ln2..
oh and that was a 3h beching session

Do you think the increased demand for these chips has caused intel to produce chips inferior to the ones they were making?

Maybe they are taking all the nice ones and making E8500s?

yep I think that Intel today are selling the best 45nm chips as Xeon (Wolfdale o Yorkfield) and the inferiors for desktop
I will resale my bad E8400 and buy his clone the Xeon X3110
