strangely, I have the WORST series of Crucial "one-sided" 1066mhz sticks: the 8EF5, 4x1gb

    running nice in @ 1101mhz, 5-5-5-15 2.20V
Just need to know HOW MUCH time will it be this way..........

if it dies, so DIE, damn!!, motherstrucking DImm's................
    dominators are on it's way!!!!

So ive got my q6600 running at 367x9 for 3.3ghz my voltages are below. I tried ocing to 378x9 for 3.4ghz and upped the voltage to 1.28 for cpu and NB to 1.38 ( real voltage ) and Blue screened in prime95. So need some tips about what would be good values to work with to reach 3.4.

    CPU Voltage : 1.281 = 1.26
    CPU PLL Voltage : AUTO
    North Bridge Voltage : 1.33 = 1.36
    DRAM Voltage : 2.00 = 2.13
    FSB Termination Voltage : 1.20
    South Bridge Voltage : 1.050 = 1.09
    Loadline Calibration : Enable

My cpu idles at about 40-44 @ idle during prime95 load can reach 65, so if any changes are made gotta try not let it go much above these if possible.

    Help!

    Hi Gys,

is here somebody who have higher then 500FSB, on the Max Formula or Formula@Rampage, with little voltages, 24/7/Primestable???
Who are the screens of his Biossettings?
I had with my E8500@Max Formula 470 MaxFSB!
Now @Rampage i have 520maxFSB but i need NB 1,712 load, FSBTV 1,648 load PLL 1,7xx Load for stable. Thats crazy, or not?

    Sorry for my bad english

I imagine at those voltages the chip won't last too long. High PLL and FSB VTT are not good for them.

It is. I was just making a comment. There's a whole thread about degradation and damage and it's suspected that temperature isn't the culprit with the 45nm chips as much as voltage. Specifically VTT and PLL have been mentioned.

Anyway, that's a sweet FSB OC, no question.

They are little excess for 24/7 imo
I can run my 8400 at 506FSB and not need anywhere near that amount of voltage.

    CPU PLL Voltage : 1.60
    North Bridge Voltage : 1.55
    DRAM Voltage : 2.12
    FSB Termination Voltage : 1.40

Ok, so I have two issues that I need help with if someone knows.

1 - I am currently running at 400x9, when I switch to 450x8 so that I can play with different dividers for the ram it doesn't boot. PC comes on but nothing on the screen. I have tried the bios settings from here, Anandtech's suggested settings for the P5E3 and some random ones and still no go. I even tried auto on everything including the ram except for these:
    vcore - 1.5v
    NB - 1.6v
    PLL - 1.6v
    ram - 2.2v
    FSBV - 1.6v
    FSB - 450
    Multi - 8

I am obviously missing something and since I know my chip will run at 450x8 (did it in my P35-DS3R and when I first connected this MB) I am at a lost now. I will keep playing with it over the weekend, but any suggestions please let me know.

Also, on a side note, it seems that if the PC does not boot I have to power off the PSU before it will do anything. The reset and power button stop working. Also, after doing this, I have to redo the clock to current time and re-enter my bios settings (luckily they are saved in one my profiles). I am going to try changing the battery, but it would be the first time I have ever had to swap out the bios battery in all my years of building PC's so I find that odd, but you never know.

Anyway, thank you in advance and if I figure it out I will post it for future reference.

Because of a skweaky wheel, they have merged the thread, so I'm not sure if your running a Maximus or a modded Maximus to Rampage, everything is so muddy now, but hey the powers that be know more than we
If you could say what your running and what bios version and post your bios setup for 450x8 please.

I find the rampage bios 308 a fussy , 1 wrong setting and no go.

Actually, while all previous RF bioses couldn't touch MF1004, I find that RF0308 is actually a tad better. I've actually switched from my very capable 8400 (see sig.) to an "average" Q6600 @ 8x476, 5:6, 24/7 (Prime stable) on bios RF0308.

*Cough* Those in the market for 45nm technology know where to look. *Cough*

Actually, I am running a Blitz Formula, bios 1504. I was told that the information here would be pretty similar for my board since there is not a dedicated Blitz thread. As far as the actual bios settings, I will post them tomorrow night after I get off of work. Anyway, since I am using the Blitz I am not sure if anyone will be able to help me since my bios may be slightly different, I was just hoping that someone might have had it before they went to the Maximus/Rampage boards and had an idea what was causing it. I know its something simple and I will probably kick myself when I figure it out, but still any ideas would be helpful.
    Thanks for the patience,

All right I'm flashing tonight. In your opinions what is the best BIOS for a Q6600, 2x2Gb of RAM, and a maximum FSB......I was stable at 475 on sometimes (haven't figured it out yet...) so hopefully this will let me get back to stability at 475 or even more......

if you'd botherd to research b4 making comments you would know that CRUCIAL SAID IT.

Engineers at Crucial have invalidated the compatibility listing for X38/48 boards. As of 3/7/2008 Crucial no longer lists X38/48 as a compatible chipset for their DDR2 800 and DDR2 1066 sticks of Ballistix Tracers.

thanks for the clarification mate. but as i said earlier, i am running my crucial as per my sig and i have no problems regardless of what crucial says and it has been running well for the past 6mths more or less.

btw mate, could you give me the link on crucial's page where the invalidation is stated? thank you

    CPU Voltage : 1.281 = 1.26
    CPU PLL Voltage : AUTO
    North Bridge Voltage : 1.33 = 1.36
    DRAM Voltage : 2.00 = 2.13
    FSB Termination Voltage : 1.20
    South Bridge Voltage : 1.050 = 1.09
    Loadline Calibration : Enable

My cpu idles at about 40-44 @ idle during prime95 load can reach 65, so if any changes are made gotta try not let it go much above these if possible.

    Help!
Anyone else got any ideas to how i should go about reaching 3.4ghz i tried upping the FSBTV to 1.40 with Grnfingers suggestion but didnt help. Really want to hit 3.4 as its close to my ram speed currently having to run at 978 when ram is stated at 1000.
