Were your timings and background processes EXACT for the WinRAR comparison Cam? The results are very good, more than what you usually can get. Thanks for the comparison, helps much in deciding BIOS with better MEM perf

About stability testing:- whoever said SnM, damn that application is second to only Intel TAT in stress. Beats Linpack hands down. Furthermore, it can detect Tcase, Tjunction, voltages, fan speeds, tests CPU, Cache, FPU, HD, MEM, graphs it all working out many statistics auto. Excellent app

I've tested 14 stability testers yesterday but on Intel builds. Can't test on Phenom until it starts up.
Best ones so far are SnM, BurnIn Test, System Stability Tester, SysTools.
Worst ones are Burnin 2008, OCCT and Orthos.
Highest system loads are with SnM and Intel TAT.

And Cam - man you have a lot of reading to do
You're not supposed to open two such monitoring apps together, they can and most of the times do set your readings and OS haywire

Only open CPUZ/EVE after AOD, like I've been saying right from the beginning as did Sami as has done Feiry - that they will most likely conflict. Exactly the same with any other "monitoring tool" which accesses same readings AOD does, don't try and cause a crash by opening both that conflict due to the way the software works.

KTE.......How is the Stability Tester on AMD Overdrive? Also seeing how you are going to be having this board and DFI 790FX Crew is very late to get AOD support properly with Bios Code how would you feel about working on a AMD Overdrive Guide Tutorial for the D.F.I 790FX owners with me? I can assist any way you feel thats pertinent with your guidance of course

Also I have asked this once before and have gotten no response >>>..How do we all feel about having a consolidated D.F.I LanParty 790FX-M2R - M2RS / Phenom Thread that will focus in on Overclocking Basic do's and dont's of working with Phenom , AMD Overdrive Focus, AND Recommended Ram / Hardware , and Phenom Bios Database Need some feedback as I shall take No Such Liberty of Creating a thread such as that without a Vote from D.F.I 790FX Owners I have no intention of excluding owners with Dual Core AMD Processors nor do I wish to make non Phenom owners feel slighted and left out in any fashion!

I do feel that TRI Core & Quad Core is the way of the Future and will likely represent 95% of the Member Base on this Thread in a quick hurry.

i'd think that'll be good as phenom oc is much more complicated and every board seems to have its own pecularities with phenom.. would be much more helpful to users new on this board AND phenom than reading this MEGA thread...

this here can remain simply as the board thread in general....

I've just found my DFI M2R, I got it around November or December and I plain forgot all about it! At least I finally remembered it and now I can join the party.
Sweet avatar Brother Esau, that's from the Grateful Dead, Steal Your Face right? It's nice to see the TLB fixed that could've wreaked havoc on my servers with Barcelona Opteron 8222. Many thanks to all of you who have kept this thread clean and focused on the task at hand (there can be a lot of hatred and BSing on once reputable forums, don't quite know why that is).

Brother Esau, it might be a good idea to start a phenom thread as this thread is getting quite long and there is SO much to learn about phenom. Take my vote with a grain of salt as I'm a newcomer. Peace all!

I honestly haven't tested how good is it yet [meaning testing a stable and unstable setting for 8 hours each] - I'll do it as soon as I can and then respond

Sure, but I need to play with it myself first
[B]Also I have asked this once before and have gotten no response >>>..How do we all feel about having a consolidated D.F.I LanParty 790FX-M2R - M2RS / Phenom Thread that will focus in on Overclocking Basic do's and dont's of working with Phenom , AMD Overdrive Focus, AND Recommended Ram / Hardware , and Phenom Bios Database
Like I said above, I can't answer to this until I play around with DFI again now. The DFI I used before was a different rev. to the boards out now, it was with B2 and it was also on a much worse BIOS. Need to update myself with DFI again now.

I've held back from making any sort of Phenom guide, I was planning on doing it 3 months ago. Mainly because frankly, it is taking this long for us and the MB MFGs to work out Phenom, sort major support, compatibility and bugs out and I don't want to affirm or negate something in it prematurely which is less than accurate like is usually done online - also things have been changing everyday with MB, BIOS, Phenom quirks, older BIOSes even function different to newer ones. Now they're much more consistent and stable but still, things can be added which change the fundamental principles. By late April, we as a community should be at a stable [knolwedged/experienced] stage to make a collaborated guide with accuracy IMHO.
