Well, after few days of some tuning I found the answer to my own question.. there wasn´t a problem with the vcore of the Go at higher speed after the vdroop mod, just needed to raise the vmen and nb a bit and the quad is stable now at 3,4 with 1,336v, it´s getting better![]()

I've seen this so many times that hurts!
The old mentality that OCers had from AMD era does not apply for Intel. If you have a mid to good quality Mobo with a fair vdroop (nothing so big of course) that's within Intel specs of a healthy.
So VDROOP is GOOD for Intel cpu and stability (within a certain margin).

Could anyone tell me if the newer Q6600 SLACR chips are good?
And with good I mean, 4GHz air (or at least 3.6GHz Prime stable air)
I have tried two Q6600 (in the old box) one B3 and one G0 but both were crap.
Now I got a Q6600 L803A464 in my shop. But before I take it home I want to know how you guys think about this one. (it has a new box, dark blue)

Same here. L801 and 1.325v VID. Only had it @ 3GHz so far before the mobo died on me but it did it with 1.28v (bios set, not my choice) @ 100% OCCT CPU Load.
perhaps intel is putting out lower grade q6600's lately to make their 45nm counterparts look more appealing... q6600 TOO good of a deal? mabye![]()

now there is a thought.![]()
all we need now is some rich guy with balls of steel that would take the ihs off of 2 brand new cpu's and post screen shots...
likelyhood of this happening never.
so id think its possible. why would intel waste silicon on bigger cpu's when the can save money by cramming more in per platter and have the technology to do so while saving cost?
but conversely the heat output of a 65nm processor compared to 45nm will have a notable difference even when using simple tools like coretemp or realtemp
i guess the real question is WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THESE NEW CPUS?!?!?!?

Looks like 3600 boinc stableon abit ip35 pro needs 1.4675 bios which results in 1.38-1.39v cpuz 100% load. Temps are reasonable, all cores under 60c, with a xigmatek HDT-S1283.

Thanks, I'll try a little lower after I redo the chipset cooling tomorrow. I can only run 3200 until then because PWM temp is unacceptable.

Can't seem to get past 3.4 ghz stable on q6600 G0. Currently have it at 380x9 @3.4ghz. Under load vcore is at 1.220v with cpuz, temps are 59,56,59,56. Bio's vcore is 1.3025. FSB : DRAM is set 1:1 with voltage at 2.1 @5-5-5-18.
I'll up the vcore to 1.3125/1.3225 at 3.4ghz and it'll won't past prime95. But with it vcore at 1.3025 past prime95 fine. Specs are in the sig. bios version is 16
What kind of voltages are you guys running to get 3.6ghz? Thanks for help
