Give them a proper run though and see what it will do. It's a new stepping that's starting to appear and there are not a lot of results with them yet. So those of you with the new steppings, start posting what you've got![]()

How hard is it to get Q6600 making about 3.6 <1.4V and 4.0 <1.55~? Are there often pieces like it?
24/7 stable 3.6 <1.4V is very common, but 4.0 <1.55 is quite rare.

And what's max safe vcore for this CPU 24/7?
I wouldn't exceed 1.5v for 24/7 use.

Yay no#1 for watercooled 65nm quads prime95 stable (for now lol).
Cheers for the update![]()

I just got Q6600 with a L80xxxxx, I will post the full batch number later. VID is a dissapointment. 1.325V. I think all the new 65nm quads have high VID. Currently doing 3.2 at 1.32V. I'm new to quad core overclocking so still trying to find the best stable settings.

Hi W3bbo
Get that on WCG asap
never noticed this thread before lolol
all you quads get into WCG team and lets see who is really stable ????

We dont bite !!!!!
Nice work there, but what's your VID? Mine's at 1.2250V and I'm prime/occt 12-hr stable at 3825 but only super-pi 32M at 4050, 1M at 4095.
Guess it's all chip-dependant (got a G0). Decent cooling too (sig). Temp limited >4.0 as chip needs dramatic Vcore increase to keep stable. Thus reaching Tjunction very quickly.
Thinking of doing as so many others and gettting a qx9650... but I've only had my q6600 since mid-jan bit early to switch lol...

Need to exchange this L804 -.-' while it's still in teh box.

Hi m8, I don't generally go in for all this folding malarky. I just see little point in it (dons flame suit). I mean its all good and well searching for cures for diseases and respect to those who do crunch but the power it takes to run say 1,000,000 pc's at 100% load is surely gonna polute the environment and create just as many problems as it solves? Just my opinion of course.
But what's the point of having a clean environment if you're dead

add in L80x's to the database. we need to see how these new chips clock.
I started working on a 3.6GHz setting, that I intend to use for just web surfing. I will save the 3.8GHz + for games only.
My lapped Q6600 GO (L726B397) with a default vcore of 1.224v's, only requires 1.392v's to make 3.6GHz stable.

It looks like there are more A Q6600's than B's?
It did pass the OCCT mixed test for 1 hour error free, and have Primed it successfully for 4 hours. This shot is only a run of 1.5 hours, but just wanted to post a picture to keep things honest.
I only get about 42C max temp on my CPU @ 1.392 volts.
