I've read some people have this ram working at 1066 with a Phenom. (And others with regular X2 500BE..)

You're the first I've read about that had problems with it. (Perhaps they've updated the BIOS since then?)

Anyway... we'll see what happens tomorrow.

BTW: I declare this "PHENOM EVE." (At least in North America.)

It was the Night before Phenom and all through the house,
The AMD geeks were stirring, some using a mouse
Their thoughts were all filled with flashing LEDs
while visions of overclocks danced in their heads.

In the morning a sound they did hear...
it was a truck motor... a grinding... or a gear.
The UPS person they came to the door.
And said "Sir sign here for booty galore."

Its run across my mind some time ago about that...

Plus there are thousands here that read the postings at least once a day .Thier friends also read the post and when you think about it..We do influence something for buying Upgrades i must say..

AMD can make a come back ,,its thier time now i believe..

    Note:when overclocking ,,

Sometimes one self needs to learn the hard way, before things get Easier or stable This also applies to AMD making a comeback.

Yep. On second thought, maybe mine was just flawed to begin with, it went 88 within a week. Still waiting for DFI, I'm going to be just staring down the new Phenom until it gets back.

Sorry your board went bad... but that makes me feel a little better about buying that ram. But only a little.

Dang it I hate waiting for UPS.

    OH THE ANGST!

Oh well in the meanwhile I'll create a slipstream Vista + SP1 DVD using vLite. (So I don't have to remove a stick of ram to load it. Or run that update again.)

Hey Guys, I've got a 9850 on the way from the Egg too. Unfortunately I'm not expecting mine until Wednesday...

If you folks wouldn't mind, take a photo or at least note the Stepping/Batch code before you install it and let us know what ya got.
You know what I mean, production week/mem controller. IE: 08xx xPMW...

I'm just curious to see if there is any relationship between production weeks and overclockability like there used to be with the X2's. Since it's such a huge die I get the feeling it might be even more luck of the draw than it used to be, but it would still be interesting info.

C'mon Keith, it'll only take a couple seconds to write down 8 digits...

As for XS selling alot of Phenoms, I think that is VERY true! They should give us all trade up's from B2's to B3's for say..... $40....

Hey , Dave yah I will Record my Stepping for the Log and I think that we should all be really adamant about doing that and that means one and all. AMD is most definitely watching this forum closely and I think that has allot to do with going from B2 Loser - B3 Winner!

Well we finally got Em in Canada, although the price is a bit high about 260+
should go down a few bucks. Got an MSI K9A2 and Odin GT 800w standing by
Definitely take a picture of your Phenom (best way IMO) chances are you'd
want to know all the "numbers" (stepping/batch whatever )yourself later on.Here is my 9600BE
    for example.

Should I switch? I hear you can't get more than a 300MHz OC on these. Right now I'm running an X2 5000+ BE @ 3.4GHz. Would I see any improvement going with the X4?

Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.

Depends on what you want it for I guess. If it ain't broken -don't break it, 5000BE is a fine chip.
All the guys with 6400+ CPU's can only get it to 3500+Mhz
Thats just over 300Mhz too isn't it

This is the B3 revision, so they will probably oc more than 300mhz. Most sites got 2.9-3.1ghz out of it. The 9850BE is a quad-core while your 5000BE is only dual-core, so if you do a lot of video encoding and photo editing it's definitely worth the upgrade. But if you mainly just play games, most games doesn't use more than 2 cores right now, so it's probably not worth it to upgrade. Just wait for more games support to support quad core then upgrade to the 45nm version Phenom that's coming late this year.
