OK, I've flashed 0801 BIOS, and nothing changed.
I did some experimenting, and this is what happens if I set Unganged+Auto memory settings:
Naturally when I force DDR2-1066 mode inside BIOS, mobo will stuck upon booting trying over and over to set up 1066 without success!
My question to Bingo13 is why does this happens?

After one sleepless night, I can tell you that this ASUS mobo is MUCH faster than DFI!
Disregarding the fact that DFI can run Unganged @ DDR2-1066 and obtain higher Sandra mem. scores, this mobo is winning all the benchmarks that I've run @ DDR2-800 Unganged.
Also you don't need to do any voodoo rituals in setting BIOS options like with DFI (maybe that’s' why DFI can run Unganged 1066). What you set you'll get, if mobo can deliver (obviously it can't deliver Unganged 1066… yet)
I'm yet to explore O'cing, but so far it looks promising. Fortunately all my Phenoms are unlocked![]()

Ok so every time my overclock is not stable the Board just refuses to boot.
My questions are, do you guys have this problem with this board and if yall do, what do you guys do to get it to boot?
Another issue I have is that the board just hates it when the cpu volts get over 1.61. Can yall get it past that?
Other than these issues I love this Mother Board, I just wish it would help me OC my 6400+ some more, but the freakin volts!!
Try CMOS-Clear or taking off the power-connector from the psu and wait a minute. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes or more before it will boot again..![]()
I never tried a Vcore above 1.55V with the board, bcs. most of the time this is reducing your oc on AMD. Better try to cool the cpu down then.
PC : Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 + Intel Core i5 i2500k + 2 x Asus HD6870 DirectCU + 2x2GB PC12800 G.Skill Eco 7-8-7-24 + Creative X-Fi Titanium PCIe + Scythe Mugen 3.
Digicam : Pentax *istDL2 + Pentax smc DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL + Cosina F3.5/100mm Makro.
Heimkino : Samsung LE-46B450 FullHD + Arion AF-4000HDCI + Onkyo TX-SR505E + Quadral Quintas 5.0 + Heco Victa 25A.
Well basically if you go over the edge all mainboards will not boot. It's simple prevention against aggressive overclock, and lamers (NHF).
This mobo is quite tough, and if you didn’t push way to much you can just un plug power cord from the PSU, wait for like 10 sec. plug in it back, and power up system, while holding <INSERT> key.
It should boot up, and give you option to change settings in the BIOS.
1.6V is HIGH if you don't have some serious cooling (air doesn't count for this voltage!)Another issue I have is that the board just hates it when the cpu volts get over 1.61. Can yall get it past that?

Thanks for the respones guys.
Ok, so booting up after a bad overclock is no longer an issue.
Thing is I know someone who got 3.8Ghz on a 6400+ stable on air but he used like 1.66 volts.
Whats pissing me off, is that it doesn't even get passed 40C on Ideal with 1.61 volts and its fine but just one up at 1.62 and no boot.
I really want to get to 3.8 or at least 3.6 with my 6400+ so I was just trying to find out how far yall have taken this boards CPU volts too, thanks.
Has anyone been able to get there wifi card to work on this board.
funk where's that bios update you were talking about........still waiting for 0803......atm We have quite a few issues with a 9600 phenom/vista.......and we are using qvl kingston memory for the time being till we can work out the issues.
One issue is media center crashes......No clue atm Can't get much useful info via error reporting.....It refuses to run however, even did a fresh install again same issue.......I'm thinking its a conflict with sound drivers
Ive ran memtest etc etc....done mutliple tests for stability and it passes, just seems the board is holding back alot atm with the quad......
Yes wifi works when it wants to, It appears to like or dislike certain routers however.....It hates my d-link, cannot connect to it at all, works fine on my buddies linksys however, both routers have the latest firmware........

I've got no strings to hold me down.
To make me fret, or make me frown.
I had strings but now I'm free.
There are no strings on me
If its possible, we should recover this thread and turn it into a guide and tips thread like the DFI 790FX board. This board seems to be very great at stock but takes quite a bit work to make it great. Seems like out of the box the HT and NB don't like high speeds. What voltages are people with this board using to reach their HTT speeds.

with the macci's fix, in case you are using Phenom+Vista x64.

We just got this mobo yesterday and we have following problem after we install a DVD-ROM and try to boot with windows install CD
"not enough run time space xxxxxxx, smbios not availabel blah blah, please F1 to resume"
no matter clear cmos, reflash bios, doesn't help. remove DVD-rom, SATA HDD doesnt help either.
any one knows how to solve this problem?

Use a IDE DVD Drive to install winblows its conflicting with the SB600 controller if you have a SATA DVD Drive that is.
