Where exactly is the revision located at? Down in the lower right corner it says "Rev A" only. Is it in the blank rectangle between the PCI slots? It looks like mine says "A1 something something Z something."

I must agree with you there sam. What's the point in having the high-end equipment (with a high-end cost) and that is being overpowered by 'old' technology?!

For starters the production should be much much more reliable, no bad batches, no bad boards, no differences between revs or country they come from etc...

I will never put a DFI on my case again without a real test! I did that with my very first X38 (watercooling takes 2 day labor for prope and perfect installation), then rma came (Disk Read Errors and Bios Freeze), then came the second X38 that I didn't even mount send it right back to San Jose (just look at this soldering job and how the case arrived: http://i12.tinypic.com/7wgd9qb.jpg http://i14.tinypic.com/72105ec.jpg http://i11.tinypic.com/6q2v4gp.jpg ) ...

My third X38 Rev A01 is perfect and works flawless till this date.

But now with my X48 also mounted on watercooling I have to waist 1 more day to pull all out, 3 days till new one arrive and 2 more mounting everythingback and shipping money to rma back and then reassemble everything again.

All that if it's proven that I have a malfuction like Pinot (vcore upping = post shut down and Clear Cmos only way to get back and also frozen bios screen)... All that with STOCK (bios default loaded)...

But why do I still buying DFI since NF2?!?!?!?!

CPU-z info is kinda messed up (manufacturer & board) but rev says "01."

You can also see the Rev # behind the Bernstein Sound Card.

After the P/N number you'll see it.

Finally got my x38 after 2 months, but i'm a newbie in terms of overclocking.

    Using Q6600 + OCZ ReaperX.

    Ram currently running 266/800 5-5-5-15.

Can't seem to OC the processor, Q6600 1.325VID

Tried 8X450, 8X400, 9X400. Following dfi club settings.

Use the HR, stock heatsink needs to be lapped first

    @nles: Try 333/800 strap

    I'm using TRUE 120.

Now running 8 X 400, Ram 400/800. Is it a good settings? Other ram settings also base on the OCZ ram guide at dfi club.

    I tried 9 X 400, but after boot into windows it auto-restart.

Only use 333/667 and 333/800 straps at first.

I'm running 450*9 with my Q6600, 333/800 strap. 1,4V NB - 1,343V VTT - 2,15V Vdimm. But try with 333/667 first (not sure about the 400 straps but I think someone said they were buggy)

Hmm, using 2.1V memory volt, 1.504V NB Volt

Is this how you test your stability, CPU voltage seems quite high.

Thanks for the input will try out.

Yeah you can probably step down with NB and CPU voltage. Just use 1,4V NB and 333/667 strap to test oput your FSB.
