Lightbulb [Foxconn Quantum Force] E2140 & BlackOps = 147% OC

Just finished playing with my E2140, which had a rather dissapointing hard FSB wall at 497MHz (tested with whole variety of board ranging from DFI Blood Iron, P5K, P5KC, now BlackOps) under subzero cooling (doesn't matter if it's SS- or cascade (-105°C) cooled). Playing with the whole spectrum of Vpll & Vtt voltages didn't help much, perhaps 1-3MHz FSB.

SuperPI 1M, 32M & PiFast 10M are fastest runs in E2140 category according to hwbot.org, Wprime runs weren't that good (due to usage of Windows XP instead of Windows Vista) but still claim the 3rd spot in both 32M & 1024M categories.

    System:
    - Pentium Dual-Core E2140 Q716A // IHS removed and re-applied
    - Foxconn BlackOps X48 - G16 BIOS
    - 2x512MB Crucial PC3-8500F @ 2.1V
    - Sapphire HD2600XT 256MB PCIe
    - 80W TEC
    - PSU LCPower 6550v2 550W

Mem @ 2:3 divider 6-5-5-12, PL7, other secondary subtimings fine tuned. Didn't push the Vcore voltage as it wasn't necassery (this E2140 is prime stable with 1.31V @ 3400MHz)

    Cooling:
    - CPU: my old trusty R404a SS @ -47 ~ -48°C evaporator, die @ -25°C
    - NB: water cooled 80W TEC, 8-9°C under load @ 1.66Vnb
    - water cooling: EK-NB + Magicool 120 + 6kRPM Delta 120mm + Sacem 300L/h (cheapass crap waterpump, payed like 6€ for a brand new one )

    My trusty OC companion

497FSB is pretty good for an E2140. Mine tops out at about 410 or so. I remember seeing Coolaler have a rediculous overclock on such a chip, about the only one I've see.

Good results though. How's that x48 Foxconn?

Yes, coolaler's chip is fairly in-sane, it does around 535-540MHz FSB Well, i guess i couldn't complain, it was quite a good pick-up knowing how unlucky my hand is when 'picking' the chips

Foxconn X48 BlackOps is a great motherboard, it's 8-phase digital PWM is top notch, comparing the other motherboard this board pushes chips at least 50MHz higher than other boards! Doesn't even heat up at ~ 1.95V with quad cores loaded while cooled with just cheapass aluminum BGA ram heatsinks! Unfortunately i topped out at 555MHz FSB on my motherboard, despide NB TEC cooling and that's not enough for my E8500. But for an extreme processor with unlocked multiplier it's IMHO the best board you can buy.

Plus, new BIOS on weekly basis. Having hard time keeping up with the pace of the programming team

Very nice clocks there Tiborr. I think i should also try some clocking on my E2140 on Foxconn MARS, although i dont have high hopes, it would be fun to see how it clocks.

Thank you both, but unfortunatelly, FSB hard wall kicks in, i am afraid this is the very last MHz it will see

Darklord, don't just wait, start overclocking it!

Trouffman, stop spamming you bastard Go make OC TV about CeBIT, can't wait to see it
Always nice to see high overclocks out of cheap hardware, cheap paired with expensive always is very fun even if it costs nothing.

    Good cpu.
Mine can do max 450 mhz fsb... I need to do some other test but I don't think I could achieve anymore on a single stage.

Trouffman, you probably haven't seen my 550MHz run on BlackOps, haven't you? Dualcores clock quite well, although i am still in the hunt for higher clocks, 600MHz would be really nice!
