Thanks for your help Likmark and Dave but stupid me.....
The only excuse is I'm on lots of prescription medication atm.
What happened is; I must have done a clr cmos since my last flash.
Qflash was not seeing my drive (usb stick) so I was thinking it's not seeing the bios file. The usb stick was being seen in windows as I was copying the file to it. Anyway I thought if it's not seeing the drive it must be a bios issue, so sure enough I went into Integrated Peripherals and the Legacy USB Detect option was set to disabled, so I enabled it and went back to Qflash and bingo the file was there. So I now have F4 final on my system and it's time to do some overclocking again

If only my brain had of thought of that in the first place.

Thanks again for your help it's much appreciated

I'm still bravely using @BIOS from GBT
    No problems so far.

Need some time to get everything from my new BE before B3 will arrive . For next two days I'm too busy covering mine and another person duties...

GREAT News Bosch, hopefully we'll get a NB voltage option soon. Awesome OC on your NB/IMC btw!
    Some Benchie/Screens would be nice..

Glad you got it figured out man. F4 definitly helped my HT Ref clock speeds, play with it again! The wall on my machine went from 230htt to ~250+... I'm still messing with it, but 252x10.5x8x7 seems VERY stable! WooHoo...
I did have to lower the HT bus though (7x), it didn't seem to like going over 2Ghz... I think I need your Meds bud...

Personally, I haven't tried anything other than AOD Nos. Version 2.0.14 seems to work pretty well. I tried the newest version (17) but had problems, it's probably a Vista thing...

KTE: The Zalman cooler did settle down my OC, and actually got me another 21mhz on the processor. I'm sure your right, and I seriously doubt there is much more left in my chip (~2.65Ghz) but I'm on vacation next week, so I'll probably hook the water cooler up just to see for myself...
    Doubting Thomas that I am...

BTW, since I have the extra Phenom and my HTPC needed an upgrade I went ahead an ordered the Gigabyte 780G board for it. Not sure what I'm gonna do with the 1950GT though. Too bad HybridX won't work with that card...

Can one of you dudes hitting ~277mhz post up your Overclocking page settings from your BIOS? Pwetty pwease...

This is just to odd, i have seen so much Phenom stucking at 2.75G on gigabyte Boards, including mine.

Yip, rather frustrating. I'm convinced that it's the board/chipset's fault more than the CPU, which is a pity really.

update: booting into windows (and posting this :p) @ 2.86GHz, 1.5v...

    havent stability tested yet.

and still stable after 10 mins of orthos on all four cores. Damn I wish I could get higher than 260MHz on my board >_<

My old DFI AM2 board would do 400MHz, why can't this POS even get to 300?!?

They can do 300 easily. Mine has done 450 with a 6400.

It's the cpu for whatever reason.

I see. Oh well, 2863MHz ain't too bad for now I guess.

This board also refuses to work in dual channel mode with my transcend axeram (with micron chips). I'm gonna try and get some ProMOS and try again.

If you are basing that decision on Overdrive then don't. It always reads mine as running as single channel, even with every slot populated.
Check the cpuz memory tab, that one is accurate.

No it won't even boot with two DIMMS in a dual channel arrangement.

update (if anyone cares) : I swapped out the pc6400 transcend axeram kit for a pc6400 2gbpk g.skill kit, and it still wouldn't boot in dual channel mode, but I went into BIOS on one stick and upped the ddr voltage to +0.30 (which came out to be 2.22v) and now it boots fine in dual channel mode, and can drive the sticks to DDR2-980 @ 4-4-4-12-2T which is quite decent

    Well, Well.....

Gigabyte has put up the F5 Bios (at least for the DS5) and guess what...
It actually has NB Voltage control!!

I haven't had time to test it yet, and I have no idea why it shows it as minus voltages but I did do enough to know that it IS adding V's to the IMC/NB....

Very good news! Thanks for pestering them Bosch...

I just downloaded that bios from Gigabyte and it shows up as a RAR file and when I tried to uncompress it nothing happened. But I can't just copy that compressed file onto my flash drive can I? What gives?

I have yet to flash a bios on this board.

never mind. I went to the folder where I downloaded it and saw the bios file. I am not sure what the RAR file is.

flash went fine except qflash didn't recognize my newest flashdrive even though it says FAT system. Maybe I need to format it. But the computer reads it fine?

Can't get this RAM to overclock much at all, while a friend of mine has overclocked it quite a bit without upping the voltage at all.

Guys remember HTT overclocking is not as important on Phenom as long as you buy a CPU with a high enough multi Also remember NB multi is unlocked on BE's and you do need to balance NB speed along with CPU speed, in many cases a lower CPU and higher NB speed Vs outright CPU and lower NB is better...its all a balance
Got a problem with your OCZ product....?

Hi, I didn't find any info about your cpu temps.

    I'm running 2643(12x) with ht@220, NB@1760, HTT@1540 and I've just hit 60C with Prime's small FFT. I have Thermalright 128i and I wonder if it's ok for Phenom 9600BE.

    What are your temps?

    Ps. F5 rocks for me
