We have in sweden, confirmed delievery of Premium at 18th ...

around $450 .... but what the hell, this board seems to be awsome...

just that it have seperate CPU GTL , Like DFI , makes me want it ....it does a bit for stability... the rampage only still has CPU GTL REF ... not 0-1 - 0-2 like DFI or premium...

well well , should i place and order....hmmmm

I don't understand why (Asus) engineers are intentionally holding off on/taking away bios tweaks from the end user.

Komplett, right? Says 4 expected here too since their HQ and warehouse are here in Norway. That's not a whole lot of motherboards for two countries, so it looks like they just couldn't get their hands on any more for now.

yep I think the Rampage will probably be the last single channel GTL board. The Premium with dual channel is the way to go.

So, if given a choice for most of us here, would you go with the Premium or ROG Formula Extreme? Looks like both are based on the same X48 chipset.

There suppose to be an Extreme version of ROG Formula, which instead of using DDR2 memory, it is using DDR3 memory. So far, that's the only thing different about the two that I have read about.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but will I have any fit issues installing a Fuzion on the Rampage Formula?

The only boards I've been able to find with a Fuzion installed are the older Maximus Formula SEs, which appear to have smaller heatsinks over the NB/SB/mosfet assembly.

    Anyone know?

I just checked mwave.com and could not find the P5E3 Premium anywhere. I guess it doesn't really matter though. I got tired of waiting and ordered a 790i Ultra on March 18. If Asus had released the P5E3 Premium on March 18 (or sooner) I would have purchased it instead. Oh well Asus...you snooze you lose.

    Ok I have my P5E3,
first impressions runs cool and overclocks Q6600 to 3825Ghz with 9x ,multi quite well.

I found the everset scores a bit lower than expected with trd of 6. I need to get a better cooling loop as I only have 1 120 rad covering cpu and gpu. I'll get back to you when I have run more tests.

I need to do fresh install as I havent had chance today. I tried OCCT but failed with 2 mins with cpu too hot, but seems to run ok otherwise. Strange I know its a newer version but I used to be OCCT stable at 3.6GHz on Maximus Formula SE. The temps climb to around 69-70c maybe it needs better tim also and a chance to settle down. Its a bit of a contradiction to what I said at first but to the touch everything is hardly warm.

    I'll monitor the situation

Ok, sweet keep us updated, too bad you havent got a Wolfdale to compare with... but how are the perf. and overall system compare to your previuis board? And what do u mean? isnt it stable at same clocks as on formula? or isnt stable at 3.8 ? doesnt show very well in your post

Yea I wish I had one too, but still installing my OS, I have put 2 scsi controllers on this board, ones a Perc 320-e the other a 320-2 from LSI causing some headaches running 9 15K II drives. Had to install vista to have both working off correct drivers.

Anyway had the cpu at 466 x 8 memory 1864Mhz trd7 very stable. Everest shows 11450 read which is impressive. I look back though at my old Formula 3dMark6 score posted here on same clock was 14300 odd now 13660. I need to do some more messing around once I have an OS to work with. Sorry cant update you more at the min.

Has anyone heard any information on the asus rampage extreme yet?
I've a feelling you won't. Think the P5E3 Premium is the current replacement. The Premium is a newer design board with dual channel CPU GTLref, the Extreme only had single. I reckon Asus will push the premium & relaese an upgraded dual channel Extreme later

That's my guess but anyway i'm going to save myself some £ & have ordered a Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6

Have you gone gigabyte before? i have and i wont go back dont like it at all, but the taste is like the butt, shared or splitted (swedish saying )

There are a rumour that the pinotnoir are the "rampage extreme" but in disquise, people say its a X48 chipset under there and not 790.

Soon premium are available here too, will order ...

And Devitto, how are the monitoring? i know the lack of Vdimm and other measures in p5e3 dlx model, how much does it show here?

Yep I had a x38 DQ6 for a while. Admittedly i got it after it had been around for a couple of months, found it a decent solid board. Was running Asus P5E3 Deluxe, but currently have my cellshock 14400 on RMA, hadn't overvolted them , much. Gives me that nagging suspicion I get on occasions that the board has killed my ram . So after some mental acrobatics I've decided to save £50 & try the gigabyrte in preference to the Premium.

Will watch with interest how the premium performs.

My thoughts too when i got my gigabyte..

Had Maximums Extreme before, and it officially sucked at fsb , it refused to go beyond 500FSB , NOT EVEN 501, and it BSOD....strange board..it clocked like hell, boot up without a glitch at 9.5x500 , 4750 , this board have problems at 4,6 , i GOT FSB now, 562 now with this, but it clocks like an old hag.. and refuses mem dividers, its a bogus compared to asus, even if asus had sad fsb.....and bios on this board are a shame compared to asus.

maybe ddr3 wasnt mature enough on p35 or something, couse this is bad..
this is my main reason why im goin back to asus...bad bios, and very unstable at some higher clocks..well well.. hope asus wont let me down on fsb again, had 2 x38 boards doin exactly the same

gah typing alot of chit here, but thats me Devitto, report back please, im eager to see some results and answer to my question
