    Just noticed!

With refferance to what I previously mentioned to the insignificant performance change after installing second card. I just noticed the following.

In catalist as you will see bellow crossfire showes up on the graphics settings list and as you can see I have it en-abled, but on the Graphics adapter field that I have oppened, it only shows the #1 card ? Also on second pic bellow showing the information center, I only see one card?

Could this be the problem? How do I fix ? In "My Computer"/hardware/divice manager/display adapters, I see both cards.
In "System Information" /components/display, I see both cards.???

    What's wrong???

pls check under overdrive tab, both cards should be listed there...other places only list the adapter in use.

Only one card under overdrive! Also if I plug my monitor on the lower card I get no display.

Edit: I'm sorry, I just unlocked overdrive, and it shows up, as follows:

wow i dont know if i would have everything on 1 loop with that small rad. i have a 240mm and a 120mm in a big loop. pump to cpu to 120mm rad to gpu to gpu to 240mm rad to res back to pump... and i still find it getting too hot. you should think about a 2nd loop to keep everything nice and cool.

of course i set the playback to one of my cards. both outputs donīt work.
i just wanted to know if it may be the modded bios causing this.
would be nice if someone with a modded bios can check if his hdmi audio is still working.
but i guess itīs something software related. maybe nero is the cause for my silent hdmi. iīll uninstall it and check if itīs working.

I know when I used the bios from my xt card on my 2900 pro only one card would show up. I was thinking windows was only seeing one because both had the same exact bios so I got a xt bios off the net and flashed the pro card again then both showed up...

That's a nice set-up that you mentiond reguarding the way you have your loop. I think I might try that too once I get my piggie-back rad installed.

Reguarding what I previously asked you about adding a second pump in-line; Do you think that's a good idea or not? What would you do? Here is a pic I took out of my manual showing my pump and res. assembly:

As I mentioned before this looks like one permanent assy. I think I may need more pump after adding all the extra components but I don't want to eliminate this because there is a sight glass in the front of my case that shows the fluid level in this res. That's why I was thinking of an in-line secondary pump. What is you opinion?

if that is not the problem then i am out of ideas. nobody called you dumb, its just that the simplest answers are usually the ones most overlooked. a modded bios should not effect hdmi playback as it is all driver controlled. from what you have said, it may even be nero needs to be configured to use the ati as default sound playback device... if not then perhaps it is just not compatible with that player. mabye you even need to go so far as contact ati customer support. sorry that i couldnt be of any help

i would keep that loop in tact and put the vids on a seperate loop altogether with its own res, rad and pump. the way my loop is working is not efficient it seems so 2 different loops would be ideal.

thanks for trying to help me.
i´m already in contact with amd tech support. seems as if they ran out of ideas too. it´s not that a certain software doesn´t use the ati audio device. windows itself doesn´t use it. i don´t hear that "bling" when u move the slider to adjust the volume in the taskbar icon. i´m very tempted to reinstall windows... if only i wouldn´t have that many torrents running at the moment

EDIT: LOL... lazyness causes trouble... why am i always too lazy to completely shut down my lcd-tv? it´s always on standby. i just hit the on/off button on the backside of my tv (it´s in a hard to reach position) and guess what.. after turning the tv on again i got my hdmi sound back..

someone please help, whenever my card goes into 3d mode, it causes a crash when coming back into 2d. also, the gpu doesn't go into 3d mode unless the app is in full screen (ati tool, rthdribl, etc). i've tried different bios editors, different bios', different drivers.

i used rbe v1.07, with the 1.1hynix 2900pro bios, 8.3 drivers with inf fix, boot clocks are stock, 2d are 300/400 .8v, low 3d stock, high 3d 1.35 stock clocks, uvd/vid1 are stock.

    this is killing me!!!

    Hello all,

I'm asking for some help! Here are my system spec's.

    Gigabyte X38-DQ6 BIOS F8
    Q6700 @ 4.2GHZ, Mushkin 2-2gb Redline PC8000 H20
    2ea Shaphire 2900pros 1gb in CF H20
    850W PSU, DELL Raptor

After reading this really great thread I have so far.

    1. Flashed my pros to XT bios. 777/1000
    2. Used Quatom editor to up 3d volts to 1.3v, and set clocks to 850/999.

    With current setup 3dmark06= 21,409.

I can't get ATI Tool to work at all. RivaTuner seems to conflict with CCC at clocks above CCC max of 858 core. I tried to use Quatom editor to set core clocks above 858 but then have CCC issues like no crossfire. With a single card I have no issues passing 858 core.

Here's my question. What do I do to run Crossfire above 858 core?

Oh, and should I be changing any other values in Quatom Bios editor besides 3d voltage?

    Thanks

it happened to me too. your 2d volts are too low, try .875 as that is what i found to be the lowest and stable.

    Thanks
just flash your bios' to the proper core value and skip ati tool. if you are trying to monitor temps, gpu-z does a much better job than ati tool. also...
