Exchanged my mobo long ago , to a P35T , and it was some change hehe..

fsb changed from max 500 to max 560 , but top speed changed from a bootable 4750 direct from bios, to a bootable 4600, both boards sucks hehe... but never gigabyte again, poor bios, not as good clockers... and just a strange board.

Next UP DFI X48 T3R , time to get some real stuff.

    regards.

    Got 4x 1800 Cellshocks...
    currently they are running @ 1680 MHz @ 7-6-6-15 - 2T
Didnīt had the time to push them any further but I am satisfied anyway.

[Problem] Maximus Extreme + Proiect X + 333 FSB CPU

    So, i got this MB and 2G ST ProiectX 1600 ( 7-6-6 ).

    My problem is :

If i put in the board a cpu with 333 FSB ( tried with QX9650 and E6850 ) the mobo wont post, all leds remain lighted up ( 4 x 3 for the CPU, RAM, SB, NM voltage indicator and the 5 blue for the CPU frequency ). If I remove the RAMS, then same issue i got.

With E2140 its ok, but if i set straight 300 fsb, then no got ( the previous problem ), but if i set 400 FSB, then its ok.
After i made the settings with E2140 and replace the cpu with E6850 then its ok, until i make a bad bios setting and the MB reseting for the default settings ( Bad CPU OC detected ... ), because then the first thing ..

I cant try with other rams, or the rams in other mb .

    Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance for advice .

Prob not much help and I don't really do much benching but, I'm running the same ram, mobo, 512mb 8800 gts. On air I'm rock solid @ 420x9. Ram @ 1680 (7-6-6-18 1T) Q6600 @ 3780mhz. Could easily go more. core temps in Everest never go above 50C under normal loads ( gaming (even Crysis :p encoding etc). Everest benching never above 62C. Project x ram is performing 100%.Why are you wanting 300fsb ? Have you tried relaxing the timings even say 7-6-6-20 ?

You dont understood my problem.. If i use a default 333 FSB CPU ( Like E6850, E8400, QX9650 ) and i make a clear cmos, the board wont BOOT up.

Hi Everybody. I'm trying to reach the Stock speed of my memory but I'm having problems. I set the NB Voltage to 1.49V, FSB at 430mhz and I was able to run Prime95 Blend Test without problems for 30 minutes.

Then, I tried to run at 440mhz FSB with the same voltage but my PC freezes after 1 minute of test. I've Increased step by step the NB Voltage from 1.49 to 1.63 and Prime95 still freezes.

I'm not using watercooling in the NB but the temperature remains under 60.

Any help is really appreciated. This is the configuration I'm trying to run.

My volts are the ones reported by probe II, don't remember the bios settings for the volts right now.

Has anyone been able to get Dominator + Maximus stable 1800MHz?

    Just see this thread

Same kit of memories and same motherboard.

I don't know what values to change first in order to reach my goal.

I'm struggling too. Ever since I got this board it has not been stable with this memory at 1800, even with relaxed timings and high voltages (check sig). Tried with 1400MHz and 7-7-7-20-1T and then also stability issues. Dunno, maybe there IS a compatibility issue here. Browsed through 3oh6's review thread, but didnt see anything about incompatibility there.

Soto and all - dont stupid copy and paste setting posted in various forums ... you need to test no only copy some settings ... DOMINATORS cannot to run with setting Ai to STRONG! Try Light and will see perfect stability ... i am fighting with this mobo many weeks and now i am at 100 percent stability with FSB 450 ... but nothing more, this mobo is crap ... i am now Striker II Extreme and i am happy with 550MHz FSB!

I'm not copying settings from other threads. I just underclocked the CPU to eliminate it from the OC equation and started playing with the NB voltage and frequency to see how high I can go.

As you can see my Ai Clock Twister is set to AUTO because I don't know what that feauture does. I just want you guys to tell me what settings are wrong or what setting I have to move from Auto to some specific value.

If some people was able to push this Mobo to 500MHz FSB or further. I don't understand why we can't do the same having quality hardware.

    Thanks for your help.

    EDIT:

After setting Ai Clock Twister to Light neither my Windows XP copy nor my Vista Copy could boot. I had to set it to Auto again in order to boot both OSs

WHat CPU are you using? QX9650 ? Did you try out first what the max FSB for your CPU is?

    If it is a QX9650 then I would try a 333MHz-Strap.
I can not go with any other strap on my QX.

    Another question is :
Why did you raise the Vnb so high ???
    There´s no need to - even with 4x 1GB.

No because I don't know how to do it. I'm just trying first to reach 1800mhz in my memory and then focus in my CPU. That's why in this moment the CPU is underclocked.

    If it is a QX9650 then I would try a 333MHz-Strap.
I can not go with any other strap on my QX.

With my Strap set to 400mhz I can boot Windows Vista with memory at 1760MHz and do some stuff. In fact I was able to work with video edition without any problem but when I try to run Prime95 my PC freezes. When you say "I can not go" do you mean, you are not able to boot your system?

Why did you raise the Vnb so high ???

Trying to get stability in Prime95 with 440 MHz FSB Frequency.

Thanks for trying to help me. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Your Strap is set to 400MHz.
I do not mean your FSB !

When I set any other strap than the mentioned 333MHz, I´ll get some errors in Memtest and in Prime ... specially in higher FSBs.

I changed to 333MHz Strap and Prime95 doesn't crash anymore but after some minutes of test I get a Fatal Error, Expected a value and got another one.

At least the PC doesn't freeze but I'm still getting errors.

So we are a step further

    Try following values :
    DRAM Static Read Control: [disabled]
    DRAM Dynamic Write Control: [disabled]
    Loadline Calibration: [disabled]

There´s often mentioned that with LoadLineCalibration the 45nm-CPUs don´t clock that good and maybe you should try to raise your Vcore `cause there is a hughe Vdrop.

I'd rather left LoadLine Calibration Enabled because I've tried to Disable it before and I've got unstability. I don't know if I'm wrong but having my CPU Underclocked I shouldn't touch any configuration related exclusively to the CPU.

Unfortunately, disabling Static Read and Dynamic write Control doesn't change the situation. Prime95 still shows errors.
