Maybe you mean, 214: I think it recovers more gracefully from failed overclocks and should help certain rams as it has max TRFC of 100+. Haven't done any serious test yet.

Yeah, my Everest has always called it that, since bios MF0505 (or that is when I noticed it...).

well, ive searched for 8 hours non stop today for either an engineering version or 2.27... my search is about 10% done and im wiped out. more searching when i get home, ive got a headache from this

i think it would be easier to just mod the 2.21es version i posted to work with the newer bios'
i gotta throw everything in flexhex to see how different the code is between 2.21es and 2.26. my guess its just a little update between the 2 and some features disabled (not removed)

comparing the 2 i hope to find how to either enable the switches for later versions or update the microcode for the bios'

Would be really interesting to check maximum stable FSB on a quadcore with this bios. It will show if it's the maximus bios that s**ks or it is the PCB design

On ANY Maximus bios I could get to about 475ish before I couldn't even post, with Rampage bios I can get to 490 before no post with tighter ram timings and North Bridge performance level!

He is wondering if with the Rampage "mod" he could reach higher stable FSB with his CPU.

He didn't say that he can't get his Maximus to run his quad at XXX MHz FSB stable.

the versions i posted when used like
afudos /h
shows the (es) in dos, the 2.32 from the asus ftp does not show this. the ones that DID show it in dos you could use the switches, this is what i based my (es) theory on

If you'd read the thread you'd know the benefits...

The performance goes up, as does overclockability for most people. And this is only with the initial Beta Rampage bios...

generally those of us who have done the mod noticed a few things

better memory performance *once tweaked by the new bios*
lower cpu volts to attain same stable speeds
higher fsb is attainable

ROCK SOLID @ 7 right now but going to try for 6 once these two WU are finished for Folding.

I need to read over the Anandtech article again to get the hang of these new settings and timings...

your idea SHOULD work in theory, i dont like the idea of corrupting my bios to find out. yes, i am timid when it comes to my hardware, but i work in a mail center and make beans for cash so this mobo is expensive to me.
