I am trying to connect my PS3 Optical audio output to the ABIT's Digital Audio Input and its impossible, the status always appears "block" in the Realtek Control Panel...

I search the bios but i don't see any option which could block the signal..

    Any idea?

Thanks for the reply. As for the link you supplied , well im sure those techniques ware for a motherboard that was working but stopped working. Anyway I have my AMD motherboard and CPU back in my case. I dont want to spend another day troubleshooting my Intel parts today.

but I think the motherboard is DOA because I get no post screen with the error code 83.
or it also might be here Error code 83 -
Check 4 pin power plug or replace power supply
    - , might be worth a try before you return it

Hey guys. I am a newbie and this is the first time i post on a forum. I have a ix38 quadgt with e8500 3.16 cpu and 4gb ddr 1066 corsair dominator ram. When the system starts up I noticed the ram only says its ddr800. Is this normal or am i doing something wrong? One more thing I have a gecube 3870 X-turbo III will my system push the graphics card or do i need to overclock? Thanks

Its not my power supply because I am using it on my AMD machine at the moment. Also its an 8 pin connection on the board not a 4 pin.

Yes its the same PSU with the very same 8 pin connection. All parts are the same except the motherboard and ram. I am typing this message on my AMD machine.

    4pin /8poin is irrelevent.
Main thing is , did you connect it: We've all forgotten something at one time or another. The error messager you got is very specific, unlike some of the others where sevedral issues/components might cause issues.

    hi moe2freaky,
When the system starts up I noticed the ram only says its ddr800. Is this normal or am i doing something wrong?
Yep it's normal the Auto settings have used the 1:1.20 divider sio memory speed = FSB x 1:1.20 x 2
    = 333.33 x 1.20 x 2 = 800mhz
the spd of many 1066 rated ddr2 modules defaults or includes 800mhz so that's what the memory controller uses. You need to go into bios & manually change the DDR2 Speed (CPU : DDR2) ratios.

Finally put together a new setup from the IX38 i received in RMA.

I popped in an e3110 inside, and they're working together quite nicely.

Right now, I have it 450x9 (4050mhz) at only 1.3v on load... and it's sailing through Prime95 pretty nicely right now. Tuniq Tower 120 used for cooling.

It looks like I have loads of headroom left on the CPU to overclock, but I won't bother with it, since it'll be a secondary computer.

If anyone is wondering, the default VID is 1.1v

just a question about the 4pin 8pin connection.. IF you were to only use a 4pin on a 8pin mobo would you get instability in your OC of quads?

No problem here but since we're talking about the subject i'd like to know. Friend has been having problems with his 780i.

i presume it would depend on how much power the cpu needs to overclock...best way to check is run at stock speed and run P95 to see if that is stable...if it is, gradually increase the overclock to see where the PSU can't deliver any longer using only one 4 pin 12V ATX

He bought an adapter (two molex to 8pin) and it seemed to straighten up.. But honestly I’d be pretty p!ssed with a 249 dollar board that had as much Vdroop as the evga 780i. no one should have to go drawing with a pencil for that much money. We got 3.6ghz with it. the q6600 was 1.20 vid

Makes my Abit x38 look like a champ!

So any word on a new beta bios? I'd like to see when you unplug the power cable you don't loose your OC settings.

Apparently it is 12.02 which supports the unlock on the QX .. but there maybe some newer improvements since that.

good for abit on the IX38; unfortunately i did not have time to explore that setting when i had the board...was it that way all along or did abit add the ability to go way low on vcore recently?...

i wish i had that ability to set vcore that low in the IP35 Pro's Uguru
