KTE -- if you are really interested in chasing down this game as a CPU bench, I ran another experiment to check core scaling at 640x480 and 1280x1024, I have attached the raw data and the XLS file in the ZIP below.

Config: Phenom 9600 BE at stock, 8800 GTX, 2 gigs ram DDR2-800, UT bench utility used, ensured low quality settings at stated resolutions to put workload back on CPU.

The results are shown below. Two items I found interesting is that sigma generally goes up with frame rate (several interpretations on this observation), and the 1280x1024 gives higher FPS in general though with these statistics it is hard to make that conclusion solid.

What is clear, at 3 cores, even a very nicely threaded game such as UT3 has been sufficiently 'core saturated' so to speak... this bodes very well for the Phenom 8xxx series as being good for gaming, even for multithreaded gaming.

One hundred years from now It won't matter
What kind of car I drove What kind of house I lived in
How much money I had in the bank Nor what my cloths looked like.... But The world may be a little better Because, I was important In the life of a child.
